I will be at POCONO SPEEDWAY this weekend Aug 4th and 5th for some drifting so come by and say hello and maybe even come for a ride along!!! I worked hard to make this fix as simple and cheap as possible so anyone can do this at home! If I can cut a hole in my exhaust the size of a playing card, you can fix your small leak! Here is what I used: Exhaust Putty: https://amzn.to/2vaDye2 Exhaust Tape: https://amzn.to/2MakvqN Exhaust Clamp: https://amzn.to/2n4X9b7 Sandpaper (100 grit): https://amzn.to/2KfXwsw Shop Vac: https://amzn.to/2AySXdc Electric Leaf Blower: https://amzn.to/2n5nOoc

Amazing... You somehow turn most people biggest fears and issues into simple fun :) Really great that you showed 3 different option. Especially going as far as cutting your own exhaust to demonstrate the fix! (not judging haha) Super cool tho! Fan 4 Life :)

My only concern with blowing air into the muffler, is that it would damage the muffler bearings, aren't they designed for one direction air flow?

This is amazing. I just got my first car which is a 2003 Ford Mustang v6 convertible, and it has a exhaust leak around the exact same stop as in the video (driver side manifold). This is the most perfect timed video ever. Thank you ChrisFix, you the man.

Hey Chris, I was wondering how the High Heat JB weld is holding up? I have a leak in my headers and I'm tempted to use the same stuff but heard of a lot of bad experiences with it. Anyway keep up the good work! Greets from Belgium

Another Great Video. Thx
Elkien 3 (19 days ago)
Would the clamp be a viable option for a completely detached weld? And would it weld itself on permanently? I'm thinking I might be able to get it welded back without the tape or clamp, but a temporary solution until then would be nice.
Jack_Fables (19 days ago)
As good as Chris is at doing car work, I don’t think anyone is even spotting the wipe transitions and fancy video work. Dude knows his stuff.

How to repair an exhaust leak: dont buy a ford.
Dave Deshaies (26 days ago)
Nice vid! Thanks a lot! It is inspired me. I just sealed a craked manifold with the same putty that you used. Hopefully it will last long.
Rozmysl Rozmysl (26 days ago)
On my cars, exhaust always fails at different flanges under the car which are designed to be flexible and have rubber gaskets between the flanges, so nothing of this is helpful... I may try the putty, but other than that, all this is of not much help. I have yet to see a hole on a side of a straight pipe.
Rozmysl Rozmysl (25 days ago)
I forgot to mention that your method to find the leaks is the best. I used to just start the car and go under it to hear and feel the leaks but your method is so much better. Thanks for amazing work.

Toad Phillips (28 days ago)
This crap doesn't work trust me I've tried. Maybe with the exception of the exhaust clamp. Just spend the $20-$50 at your local muffler shop and fix it right!! It might last a week or two, then it'll blow out. Don't waste your time and money. Been there done that.
2013Rango (28 days ago)
So the person that had the car got rid of it because the leak, the person don't believe in taking the car to the shop, sounds like they either wanted a new car or didn't want to pay to fix it.
Brandon Capone (28 days ago)
wow look at that
