I will be at POCONO SPEEDWAY this weekend Aug 4th and 5th for some drifting so come by and say hello and maybe even come for a ride along!!! I worked hard to make this fix as simple and cheap as possible so anyone can do this at home! If I can cut a hole in my exhaust the size of a playing card, you can fix your small leak! Here is what I used: Exhaust Putty: https://amzn.to/2vaDye2 Exhaust Tape: https://amzn.to/2MakvqN Exhaust Clamp: https://amzn.to/2n4X9b7 Sandpaper (100 grit): https://amzn.to/2KfXwsw Shop Vac: https://amzn.to/2AySXdc Electric Leaf Blower: https://amzn.to/2n5nOoc

Thank you ChrisFix! I was able to find the leak on my exhaust manifold gasket using the vacuum method! That ticking noise was driving me insane!
Tylnorton (1 day ago)
Geez did I just want you intentionally cut a huge hole on your exhaust pipe JUST to demonstrate a method how to repair it? Bravo ChrisFix lmao
Onii_Tv (1 day ago)
It's currently winter and very cold where I live but would I still be able to use the putty method? would it work right and cure? or does it need to be hot outside.

Chris, I love watching your videos. I have fixed so many things on my truck thanks to you. People around my neighbor are impressed and think I know what I'm doing. But, what they don't know is I got the info from you. You have saved me a ton of money, time and aggravation. I can fix it myself and in most cases and have my vehicle ready in one day verses leaving it in the shop for a few days and having to rent a car or pay for transportation as well as pay for the repairs . Need I say more? Keep it coming because my truck is 20 years old and I can fix it, I will! Thank you SO MUCH!!

Chris I've learnt a lot from your videos, but the most important thing is, don't even start, if you have no Soapy Wooder:D

Rich MAC (10 days ago)
Another great video Chris. Cringed when you cut a hole in a perfectly good exhaust but you did prove that the two repairs would work. Really like your idea about using the vacuum cleaner and soapy wooder to find the leaks. Think most seasoned mechanics could learn a thing or two here as well as us DIY'ers.
Madman (10 days ago)
Only thing i'm wondering why he did not replace the flange gasket and manifold gasket. Edit: a few minutes I came to the conclusion that he might as well pull the header if changing gaskets.
ChrisFix (10 days ago)
The gaskets weren’t bad luckily
samsung pro (11 days ago)
You can use a JB WELD insted of thet paste
superslyko123 (9 days ago)
Thank You! I've been dealing with exhaust fumes in the passenger compartment for over a year on my weekend ride. It was so bad I had to drive with the windows down. Kinda took all the fun outta it. I had previously examined the entire pipe without identifying any problems. Reverse air pressure & soapy water were the key. JB Weld is the bomb. YOU saved me about $5000. Wow! ;-)
ChrisFix (11 days ago)
Awesome! Glad to hear it!
jony rodriguez (11 days ago)

You’re the man dude! Really thorough and informative videos! Ty
Mystic Thunder (12 days ago)
You forgot to mention solution number 4, which is pretty much always an option if you have the cash for it: pull and replace. Sometimes, the best answer is just to slap a new part in there; case in point, if I found out that my vehicle had that exact leak that you found on that Mustang, I know for a fact that I wouldn't have the patience to putty it all up and then wait for it to cure. I'd honestly be more partial to picking up replacement parts. Sure, it ends up being a bit more expensive, but for a guy doing what I do for a living, the downtime that you eat by going for a good/cheap fix ends up being more expensive than going for a fast/good fix. After all, you ain't gettin' paid if the truck ain't movin'
Ramon Hernandez (12 days ago)

Hey Chris, I got a 91 honda accord a while back. It definitely has a few problems, and I've saved your videos for reference once I tackle them :) Would you be able to do a video on repairing brake lines in the future? Both underbody and to the calipers themselves. So far your oil change and exhaust videos have come in handy for the little Honda, but my brakes went out and I haven't the money to spend on a professional repair. Love you and your videos Chris!
OLIAKOS (15 days ago)
hey chrisfix i just found your channel and recently subscribed really good content man! question for you can you use 4 ramps one for each tire and jack the whole car up on those?
OLIAKOS (14 days ago)
+ChrisFix thanks for the quick reply! i noticed you use race ramps, which type do you use ? they r pretty expensive the cheapest i seen on amazon r like 170 bucks for the Race Ramps RR-40 40" Race Ramp model. i was thinking on buying those ones for my 2010 civic dx-g. some others that r cheaper that i checked out like rhino ramps have some scary reviews about them breaking while the car is on them! so i figure ill spend the extra money if it means ill be safe
ChrisFix (15 days ago)
Yes you could as long as there is room under the front of the rear tires to put the ramps.

Hi Chris, I've got an engine noise, when I go from about 2000-2500RPM, I'm not quite sure what it is, can you please help. I don't think it's related to the exhaust or else it would be loud all the time. Thanks in advance.
edgar ålmo (17 days ago)
Love your vids and stuff, been subbed fpr a while, but wouldnt smearing that puddy on the bolt on the manifold be a bad idea?
