greger, the vegan nazi that picks his studies to prove his point of view, which might actually not be reality at all ... remember the ... margarine good, butter bad... this is another... meat is bad .... as if plants don't have gmo, pesticide, glyphosate on them and have natural defences like lectins (wheat, potato, tomato) that destroy your gut lining and give you "fake" auto immune diseases and 0 plants have bio available B12 so many vegans start to become so DEPRESSED
Thanks Dr Greger! Another informative video. I love your videos and appreciate the effort gone into them with reference to studies and supporting evidence.
Plant based 2 years now and I am very greatful you put so much of your time into trying to heal others as your videos are a great reference and source of inspiration for me.
Thank you to you and your team 🤗
So what kind of food do you eat if you cut out the junk food? Fruit, vegetables, (minimally processed) whole grains, beans, and nuts. Dr. G is right! Carrots taste sweet after you stop eating sugar. For dessert, I eat fruit now.
The answer is NOT more government regulation. It LESS government period. Cease the government welfare system supporting commercial products. So many SJWs are quick to blame the government while they simultaneously demand MORE government action! WRONG! The REAL problem is that people MUST, as individuals, assume responsibility for the choices they make. And that is NOT the role of government. It properly remains the sole responsibility of individuals to stop waiting for the proverbial they - the government - to solve problems that are of their own making and of which they retain the solution - and that remains the assumption of responsibility for their OWN decisions.
The realm of the extent of government remains regulations, not to subsidize groups or to tell people what to do. It remains simply to enforce truth in advertising, ensuring objective evidence-based claims and the requirement that things be what they say they are in clear language.
This video is excellent. When Dr Greger talks about how good food tastes without the sugar and the fat and the salt, he's hitting it out of the park. People can't believe I eat oatmeal with no sugar or raisins, just cinnamon. It's delicious. They can't believe I don't put salt into my chili (vegan). Why would I add salt? My chili is delicious. Beans, tomatoes, onion, bell pepper, cumin, turmeric, black pepper, chili pepper, what else do you need?
what an important reminder for my self. I drifted too much towards eating more sugars espacially drinking soda. It may be nothing compared to what is normal in the US, but it is still to much... half a liter of soda a day plus chocolate and other sweets... that adds up and ends up beeing too much!
Quote: "If someone comes out with a diet saying broccoli is really good for you, how many books is that going to sell? Right? Someone comes out and says bacon and butter is really good for you ahh...
"Someone comes out and says veganism is really good for... Oh shit"
The video agrees that rates of diabetes, heart disease and obesity etc. are increasing and that people are becoming more sick. The american dietary guidelines recommend a diet that is high in carbs and low in fat. Veganism is an extreme of a high carb / low fat diet. Clearly it isn't working...
The reality is everyone and everything is complete bullshit. You can live this life but it will always suck, 99% of us can't escape the slavery we are born into, it's illegal to be free, and the only escape to all this bullshit is death of either yourself or of those tyrants who dominate your freedoms. The reality though is simple, everyone and everything is bullshit.
Yes they use this drives for sweets
Because sugar food create energy that our body will create for a mechanical effort, but the industry use it so that an addict of this component by using other component with it that hijack the dopamine center of your brain...
This guy is exactly right. Eight years ago I knew I had to do something because I was overweight and felt terrible all the time. I quit eating out and started buying food that was available 50 years ago which just means staying away from the center aisles and packaged food at the supermarket. I was 257 lbs and I have been 173 lbs for over 5 years now and I don’t ever eat the food advertisers are ramming down our throats. I feel better, sleep better, have more energy and hardly ever get sick. Plus I don’t like the unhealthy food anymore. That’s the surprising part after the taste buds get used to real food they reject the phony processed phony food.
I hear carnists say greger is biased all the time...But when you listen to him, he spells out nothing but cold hard facts, that he has deducted by looking at BOTH sides. Carnists like to think being vegan at all makes you "biased", but then don't think eating meat makes you biased.
Greger is a beast among M.D's.
Dr. Michael Greger knows quite a lot about the industry's trickery but he knows *FUCK ALL* about what's healthy and what's not: "why aren't we subsidizing fruits and vegetables?" Is he yet another demented VEGAN, too?
oh, the creeky chair interview.. I remember. i wonder if he even noticed that killer noise;))) besides, mr greger is no doubt an icon of change in the public nutrition discourse.. go vegan, you will be thrilled if you do it right. follow him, he sure is worth your trust.
I'm vegan and have been for 10 years, at least. Before that I was vegetarian/veganish 33. I'm an ethical vegan. I am not plant-based. I'm also a libertarian. I think its ridiculous to blame "the industry" for people's compulsive addiction to junk food and indifference to its ill effect on their health. It's their responsibility. Cravings for sugar, fat and salt have evolved naturally, good or bad. No food should be subsidized. Not sugar. Not broccoli.
I think many people probably have tried his diet, for much longer than a week, and found it bland and hard to maintain. Women have had menstrual problems on no or low oil.
Comparing the health of people who wantonly eat massive amounts of cheap junk food and are sedentary to people who eat strict SOS-free diets seems very deceptive to me. What about people somewhere in between? Maybe that's more doable, and the difference between strict Greger dieters and moderate health vegans is very tiny. I dabble a little with the SOS-free diet---it's bland and unsatisfying----but I'm far from strict and don't intend to be. I don't have heart disease, cancer or diabetes. Far from it. I'm 60. I run 6 to 18 miles a week. No big deal.
I just don't understand the blind adoration of Dr. Greger. Sure, he has some good advice here and there, but the hype, propaganda and adoration are absolutely cultish.
That is absolutely true. I tried it. After a short time your taste buds open up to a wide range of rich and original taste experiences. You don’t know how delicious and flavourful e.g. fruits, nuts, seeds and homemade dishes can be until you stop numbing your taste buds with excessive use of sugar, salt, strong spices and artificial flavourings. (Excessive in this context is the amount used by people today in general.)
He's a fantastic researcher, and I've learned many things from guy's videos we haven't even touched upon in uni. The only downsides I see to the diet he suggests are;
1. it's quite hard, those first few weeks he speaks off can be a torture, especially with people who have issues with HPA axis disorders and hypoglycemia, to name a few, though of course the pay off is absolutely there. It's often probably just a case of "no pain no gain" lol
2. It's very expensive. Unless you're a farmer, it's really pricey to get all the fresh, clean, unpolluted, nice fruits and veggies. You have to have good food processors too, waste a lot of electricity preparing the food etc. It gets expensive and it's oftentimes not the option for those who probably need it the most; students, people living in substandard conditions, patients with chronic and autoimmune diseases. Of course one needs to ask oneself; how much is health worthy to them
3. It's scandalously time and energy consuming. Preparing, eating and digesting all that plant-derived food will take a lot of time. A lot. It's also not compatible with intermittent fasting or similar protocols because you'll be required to eat up to 10x the volume of average diet to simply meet your caloric needs. In or of itself that's not a bad thing, if inconvenient perhaps, but if you're on a schedule, particularly a busy one, or eat two or less meals a day, it's borderline impossible.
You stupid IGNORANT Greger. We haven't evolved any sense for sweet due to the food industry you stupid fucking retard . We like sweet because EVERY CELL in human body runs on SUGARS you stupid idiot . Also we don't like the taste of fat or salt. Take a spoon of oil or salt and eat it. Do you like it ? Of course not . Your reaction would be like "yikes" . But take a spoon of sugar and eat it... your reaction will be "mmmm awesome " and that's totally natural . Greger also said many other nonsense like "white rice and sugar cause diabetes and obesity"!!! 😂😄😅😆🤦🏼♂️ he is a disgrace for the vegan movement
I work in a bakery, a very big one: the moment you lower fat content, sugar or chocolate chips the consumers start looking to other brands. It's not like we decide what people like, we make new products and serve them to a group of people outside the company to watch their reactions. For example: a donut is fried bread covered with auger coating... If you make a baked donut with peanuts on top you will be broke in less than a month
LIFE SUCKS! WHY WOULD I LIVE LONGER THAN I HAVE TO? There is a reason why people are depressed and it s not the food ! It gets deeper ...some people chose short lives. Dont be so sure to think it s not a conscious choice
*PROCESED FOOD INDUSTRY IS TRILION DOLLAR INDUSTRY*.... AND... *WHO TOLD U THAT U NEED TO EAT MEAT,DAIRY AND EGGS COOCKED?* AL INDIGINITE PEOPLE EAT *RAW ANIMAL PRODUCST AS A BASES OF THEIR DIET*
VEGANISM IS SYSTEM WITHIN A SYSTEM,SECOND HALF OF THE DOUBLE EGDED SWORD,ITS GOVERMENT CREATION TO CONFUSE PEOPLE SO THAT THOSE WHO WANA STOP LISTENING THE GOVERMENT...CAN BE DESTROYED BY *TRUTH TELLERS* WHICH IS FAKE OPOSITION TO THE POSITION THAT GOVERMENT TOOK IN THE FIRST PLACE!!
*GO VEGAN AND DIE*
*GO ORGANIC RAW PRIMAL/CARNIVORE AND LIVE* !!!
lol. Governments around the world subsidize meat, milk and eggs every step of the way. In usa subsidies are over 25 Billion a year. And you think veganism is created by government? They are fighting it every step of the way because politicians are bought and paid for by animal agriculture industries. You are part of the real conspiracy...trying to cloud the truth that veganism is the best for people, the planet and animals.
True words about the industry, but wrong path, instead of focusing on fruits and vegetables, you should focus on high quality meat(especially organ meats), fat and tubers.
Most vegetables, grains, beans, fruits are either hard to digest or are empty calories.
people dont listen because they dont have to listen its the american lie i mean way, and then they label themselves as unique..ur not unique your fat like all the other fatties on this planet wasting space, get rid of yourself or stop doing stupid shit, excuses are like assholes everyone has one, we are all backwards we celebrate stupid shit and stupid people then complain about it. bunch of fake cucks-
Parasites (that want sugar), artificial flavorings, MSM make you addicted to junk food. The need to have a _short satisfactory_ feeling to cope with everyday day life, stressors, problems makes you want to consume junk food
Over six years I've developed such trust in him. Nutrition info can be so overwhleming but I know I can take whatever things someone tells me, search his website and in 5 minutes know the latest science to confirm or debunk whatever it is. No more confusion.
Cheap sugar is bad for you. As if expensive sugar is good for you.
News flash, they're both bad for you.
Fruits are just as bad for you. They are full of sugar and fructose. Unnaturally full of sugar and fructose because they've been selected and bred to be so full of sugar. Don't eat too much fruit. They are sugar bombs.

As a child, there was a portrait in our family home in Paris that I always loved. Today, it’s known as Maya with Doll – but to me it was just a portrait of my mother, albeit a remarkable one. “Your grandfather was a painter,” she would say, whenever the subject of the canvas, one of many that hung around the house, came up in discussion. It was only when I began school, and whispers about my heritage started to follow me, that I realised what an understatement that was. My grandfather was far more than a painter. He was the defining figure of 20th-century art – and, as I would learn later from years of academic study, a true genius. It was a revelation that would shape the course of my life in many ways. When Picasso died – in 1973, the year before I was born – he left behind 45,000 works, not to mention personal objects and correspondence.
