Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald - In Theaters November 16
Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” is the second of five all new adventures in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World™.
At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.
In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.
The film features an ensemble cast led by Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, with Jude Law and Johnny Depp. The cast also includes, Zoë Kravitz, Callum Turner, Claudia Kim, William Nadylam, Kevin Guthrie, Carmen Ejogo, and Poppy Corby-Tuech.
“Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” is directed by David Yates, from a screenplay by J.K. Rowling. The film is produced by David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram.
Slated for release on November 16, 2018, the film will be distributed worldwide in 2D and 3D in select theatres and IMAX by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
Well made movie in many ways, but I would have to say it was going all over the place story wise. And tbh, it sincerely lacks the fun and storytelling the first one had.
I did not expect this, but I was actually rather... bored watching this movie. I enjoy the Harry Potter franchise and Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, but this was rather dull.
I just saw the first one on tv the other night. Seeing as I watched the Harry Potter movies I was curious. I really enjoyed it. And will be renting this when its available. Be interesting to see young dumbledore. 😊
Grindelwald is a bad guy at least partly because he treats his pets poorly . In the beginning of the movie , while flying , he throws his pet outside the aircraft vehicle , to its untimely death . And it trusted him !
This is at least one thing that makes Grindelwald ..... evil .
+grindelwald Jesus Christ, are you honestly not trolling me?
I went to see the first movie with my mom when I was 6 and instantly fell in love with Harry Potter. I then went to every movie premiere and started reading the books when I was 9.
+grindelwald I was born in 1995, not in the 2010s. Your desperate attempts at trying to discredit my opinion are weak and have no basis in objective reality.
Our argument has reached its end since you are cognitively unable to have an objective discussion. You are obviously incredibly biased and you take criticism of this objectively weak movie as a personal attack. Until you can separate your own personal feelings from objective reality there is nothing we need to discuss further.
At the end of the day, the numbers and the fan reaction speak for themselves. This was by far the lowest rated movie in the franchise, it had absolutely awful critical reception and the fan reception wasn't great either. It also earned 300 million less than the previous movie and nearly three times less than Deathly Hallows Part 2. Anywhere you read the comments you will find that people are generally unhappy with this movie.
You can continue being the boy who cried wolf and blindly defending this mess of a movie or you can grow up, man up and accept that this movie has flaws and that it is a mess. I personally enjoyed this movie, but I can objectively say that it is an utter mess. It's called being an adult. So grow up.
i dont know why but somehow ..last night i cant sleep..then i thought about this movie...and i remember that leta went to america with a ship..and the ship was sunk....then my brain wondering "is she titanic passenger???
Why do I feel that Queenie is filling in Snape's shoes... I know chronologically Snape came long after Queenie... but I had a feeling that Queenie is working or will work for Dumbledore at some point just as Snape did (will do in future).
The story is a mind churning political thriller with a magical elements woven into the plot.
It's about a nemesis named Gellert Grindelwald wanting to establish a complete dominance over the muggle and wizarding world.
Johnny Depp spell binds us as an antagonist Grindelwald. His fluidly changing multi faceted expressions are as magical as the creatures in the movie.
The background score by James Newton Howard works its wonders as always.
From direction to cinematography and set making to visual effects all are top notch as one would expect from more than 8 billion US dollars wizarding world films.

Ngl this is the worst film I’ve ever seen / went with 7 other people to watch it and fell asleep within 15 minuets of it starting (I don’t fall asleep in films) I woke up to find 2 mates left asleep also.
Newt Scamander is the most interesting character from the wizarding world. First, he only cares about animals. But (*SPOILER ALERT*) at the end of the movie, when he says that he choose a side, i am realy exited to see him fight. He is a neutral dude, and i cant image how it would be if he is angry, and fighting. Cant wait for part 3
Really hate to say that but this trailer is better than the actual movie. Nice special effects, etc. but a *lacking* plot. And some characters didn't convince me. Queenie was such a great character in the first movie, in this one she just went on my nerves and I got the impression that this was not really her but someone else. Certain scenes were unnecessary and I didn't cry one single tear during this movie. Though I'm satisfied with Jude Law's performance as Dumbledore. Hope, the last three movies will be better!!
Seeing this movie tonight! I'm so excited!!!! (I know it got bad ratings but so did Star Wars The Last Jedi and I thought that movie was fucking amazing)
Edit: I really enjoyed it!!! I can understand why someone wouldn't have liked it though
In my opinion the trailer overhyped the movie...they connected a lot of the minor actions to make it seem like an amazing movie in the trailer combined with amazing music that doesn’t come up in the actual movie
Is it me or movie looked like Voldemort started to gather his army? I guess, Harry Potter or someone like him will poke Voldemort's eye in the end again. I own all series of Harry Potter on DVD and Blue ray, I even bought First Fantastic Beasts movie, but I don't want that one in my collection. This one looks like a jungle. You just started to get used to one character, when he suddenly got killed. JK Rolling killed everyone again. Rolling became the Alfred Hitchcock.
Sechskies Eun Ji Won and rookie singers Lee Soo Hyun and Kim Eun Bi performed the third OST single titled "Love Song". The rookies, who are both training to debut in HYWY Entertainments girl group HYWY Girls, joined the veteran to sing about falling in love with an unlikely person. The rhythmic medium temp track is the perfect tune to make your spring days even brighter.
As a child, there was a portrait in our family home in Paris that I always loved. Today, it’s known as Maya with Doll – but to me it was just a portrait of my mother, albeit a remarkable one. “Your grandfather was a painter,” she would say, whenever the subject of the canvas, one of many that hung around the house, came up in discussion. It was only when I began school, and whispers about my heritage started to follow me, that I realised what an understatement that was. My grandfather was far more than a painter. He was the defining figure of 20th-century art – and, as I would learn later from years of academic study, a true genius. It was a revelation that would shape the course of my life in many ways. When Picasso died – in 1973, the year before I was born – he left behind 45,000 works, not to mention personal objects and correspondence.
