Analytical Functions in oracle explained with real examples

25:24
This video explains analytical functions and how they are implemented in real projects. Analytical functions are somewhat similar to aggregate functions, but they offer much more. Why use analytical function ? They allow you to write fast and concise queries which otherwise will involve self join and long processing times They allow you to perform aggregate functions independently on sets of partitions. You can access values from previous rows in current row and you can restrict the window on which you want to apply this analytical function. I have given additional practice exercises along with the dataset so that you can comfortably work with analytical functions. You can find the sample problems along with dataset in the below link. http://www.internshipsfromhome.com/oracle-analytical-functions-ddl-and-dml/

Database Design 39 - Indexes (Clustered, Nonclustered, Composite Index)

13:28
This video covers the basics of indexes. Indexing is an extremely important step of database design. Without Indexes database queries can take a substantial amount of time and hog system resources. The main two classifications of indexes are clustered and non-clustered indexes. Clustered indexes are usually the primary key and determine how the data is actually stored in the table. These are the fastest and most effective. Non-clustered indexes sort a reference to data that is still fast but doesn't actually determine how the data is structured. The best tip I can give you is to use indexes but don't over use them. Having loads of indexes on columns that are barely ever in a where clause or join can bog down the database. This is because every time the table is updated the index must also be updated! When a database looks through a table for certain where conditions on a column that does not have an index, it does an entire table scan. This is not a good practice for large databases (or even small databases but not as bad). With an index the database will do an index seek and quickly find the data you are looking for. Composite indexes consist of two or more columns within one index. Use these when you plan on using the two columns together for a database query WHERE clause. Part 1 How to find nth highest salary in sql

Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists http://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2014/05/part-1-how-to-find-nth-highest-salary_17.html This is a very common SQL Server Interview Question. There are several ways of finding the nth highest salary. By the end of this video, we will be able to answer all the following questions as well. How to find nth highest salary in SQL Server using a Sub-Query How to find nth highest salary in SQL Server using a CTE How to find the 2nd, 3rd or 15th highest salary Let's use the following Employees table for this demo Use the following script to create Employees table Create table Employees ( ID int primary key identity, FirstName nvarchar(50), LastName nvarchar(50), Gender nvarchar(50), Salary int ) GO Insert into Employees values ('Ben', 'Hoskins', 'Male', 70000) Insert into Employees values ('Mark', 'Hastings', 'Male', 60000) Insert into Employees values ('Steve', 'Pound', 'Male', 45000) Insert into Employees values ('Ben', 'Hoskins', 'Male', 70000) Insert into Employees values ('Philip', 'Hastings', 'Male', 45000) Insert into Employees values ('Mary', 'Lambeth', 'Female', 30000) Insert into Employees values ('Valarie', 'Vikings', 'Female', 35000) Insert into Employees values ('John', 'Stanmore', 'Male', 80000) GO To find the highest salary it is straight forward. We can simply use the Max() function as shown below. Select Max(Salary) from Employees To get the second highest salary use a sub query along with Max() function as shown below. Select Max(Salary) from Employees where Salary [ (Select Max(Salary) from Employees) To find nth highest salary using Sub-Query SELECT TOP 1 SALARY FROM ( SELECT DISTINCT TOP N SALARY FROM EMPLOYEES ORDER BY SALARY DESC ) RESULT ORDER BY SALARY To find nth highest salary using CTE WITH RESULT AS ( SELECT SALARY, DENSE_RANK() OVER (ORDER BY SALARY DESC) AS DENSERANK FROM EMPLOYEES ) SELECT TOP 1 SALARY FROM RESULT WHERE DENSERANK = N To find 2nd highest salary we can use any of the above queries. Simple replace N with 2. Similarly, to find 3rd highest salary, simple replace N with 3. Please Note: On many of the websites, you may have seen that, the following query can be used to get the nth highest salary. The below query will only work if there are no duplicates. WITH RESULT AS ( SELECT SALARY, ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY SALARY DESC) AS ROWNUMBER FROM EMPLOYEES ) SELECT SALARY FROM RESULT WHERE ROWNUMBER = 3

Your personality and your brain | Scott Schwefel | TEDxBrookings

15:54
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. We all have a unique personality, but we also show up to others in ways we don’t know. Understanding how our brains become consciously aware of ourselves, and in turn, everyone else teaches how we can connect, adapt and ultimately influence others. It all starts with knowing when we are truly self-aware, and when we aren’t, how to get there quickly and easily. Scott Schwefel built and sold Minnesota’s largest technology training company. To get there he used personality assessments to help his people understand each other and understand clients and customers. His study of personality led to an awareness of brain science and how our brains enable us to communicate with each other. Scott has taught these principles of brain science and communications techniques throughout North America, Europe and Asia, and to over 1300 CEOs globally. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

SQL Tutorial 8: Using GROUP BY and aggregate functions

09:38
On some situations, you don’t need to list all the details in your table to present the information inside your database. Some people with executive positions rely mostly in the summary that you present to them. This is where you use GROUP BY in your SELECT statement. GROUP BY works closely with aggregate functions. Use aggregate functions whenever you summarize the details inside your tables. Examples of aggregate functions are SUM (), AVG (), MAX (), MIN (), COUNT. Assign alias name to column on where you used aggregate function. Still, you can work with aggregate functions even without a GROUP BY indicated. This case is mostly applicable when you generate summary with one result. GROUP BY syntax (together with other SELECT statement clauses) is applicable to all database products such as Informix, MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle, with addition with DB2. Link for the ebook will be announced later.

Oracle of Seasons Randomizer ~ Weekly Race ~ Hide & Seek

02:09:18
This was a really good seed for the most part aside from easy access to the northeastern part of the map. Having only one way to access Mt. Cucco/Sunken City through goron mountain is really weird and probably would have benefitted from doing hide & seek early to get an easier access point. For those unfamiliar with Oracles randomizer, it is an item randomizer where items in chests are shuffled amongst each other. This leads to a different outcome each time you play and helps to make a fresh experience each time. There are a few notable exceptions to what is randomized however: - As of version 3.5.0, small keys, boss keys, and maps/compasses are randomized only within their own dungeon - Some items given from NPCs may not be randomized (mostly if the rewards are normally gasha seeds) - Freestanding heart pieces and gasha seeds in the overworld are not randomized You can find out more about the randomizer and download it here: https://github.com/jangler/oracles-randomizer/blob/master/README.md You can also use the web patcher if you don't want to download it or if you want customization options (link color/no music): http://oosarando.jaysee.live/ I stream all of my randomizers live on Twitch at https://twitch.tv/mashy #zelda #oracleofseasons #oosrandomizer

BELERICK ITEM BUILD, SKILLS, BATTLESPELL AND TALENT 🌱

07:57
Hey guys what's up! So we're here to check out a Belerick guide video. But first let's start with his background story. ------- STORY Belerick is a kind hearted mystical creature that hates conflict. After seeing the Minoan empire ruined and the people filled with despair, Belerick sacrificed himself to create a beautiful oasis for Minoan people. ------- SKILLS FLOWER OF LIFE Flower of Life gives Belerick 20% more HP from items, emblems and talents. It also deals damage in a straight line when Belerick receives a total of 200 damage. Flower of Life's damage is based on the 2% of his maximum HP, so the more HP he has, the higher his passive damage will be. The skill has no cooldown which means when he receives damage from multiple enemies his passive skill can trigger rapidly. NATURE OF SEED Nature of Seed deals damage and can slow enemies by 40%. It also leaves a mark on an enemy hero. The hero with that mark will be the priority target of his passive skill, Flower of Life. Normally, Flower of Life hits enemies that are the nearest but with the mark of Nature of Seed you can choose which enemy will receive damage. POWER OF NATURE When using Power of Nature, Belerick sacrifices his HP to increase his movement speed. Power of Nature can trigger Flower of Life because of the lost HP from using this skill. This skill will also amplify his next basic attack by getting additional damage based on the 6% of his missing HP. Once Belerick hits a target with the amplified basic attack, the enemy will be immobilized for 1.2 seconds. Belerick will also regenerate HP based on his missing HP after hitting an enemy with basic attack. NATURE'S SHIELD Activating Nature's Shield grants Belerick damage reduction for up to 40%. This skill allows Belerick to take 40% of incoming damage from his teammates if they are within his ultimate range. Using Nature's Shield will allow him to recover 10% of his maximum HP. ------- TALENTS For the talent I'd recommend Brave Smite. Brave Smite recovers 5% of his maximum HP when crowd controling a target. His second skill, Power of Nature is a crowd control skill which means Brave Smite can be triggered. When Power of Nature is combined Brave Smite, it can trigger a massive HP regen that even Estes might become jealous of. ------- BATTLESPELL For his battlespell I would recommend Flicker. He can use it for escaping or jumping right in the middle of a team fight. ------- ITEM BUILD I believe tanks should always learn to adjust to the enemy's line up. There should never be a fixed build for tanks. But in cases where the enemy's line up has a balance of physical and magical heroes I'd recommend this build. For his first three items I'd recommend Wizard Boots Demon's Advent Oracle Belerick gets 20% more HP from those three items because of his passive skill, Flower of Life. Wizard Boots allows him to farm easier because his passive skill can hit many enemies which leads to assists and more gold. To counter physical heroes, Demon's Advent is the best defense item with HP. Next item is Oracle to gain magic resistance. Oracle improves the HP he gets from Brave Smite and Power of Nature. This talent and skill combined with Oracle will increase his sustainability in team fights. For the rest of the items I'd recommend adjusting depending on who is carrying the enemy team. Counter their main damage dealer with items. Is their main damage dealer a melee physical hero who relies on basic attacks? If yes go for Dominance Ice. Is their main damage dealer a magic hero? If yes go for Athena's Shield. Learn to adapt because a fixed build with tanks is not effective. ------- TIPS Try to leave a mark to the squishy heroes with your first skill when in a team fight. This way your passive damage won't be wasted against tank enemies. Use his ultimate to save your allies but remember you can die too from absorbing damage for your teammates. Brave Smite and Power of Nature is a very good combination. There is no other talent that works as well as Brave Smite when using Belerick. Despite having a single crowd control skill, he makes it up with his damage dealing ability and the support he can give to his allies. ------- CONCLUSION Belerick is an easy tank to use. Just learn the right positioning and timing and you are all set. His passive is a one of a kind which makes him a tank and damage dealer at the same time. For me he is a must buy for tank lovers out there. With the right items he can easily go toe to toe against a damage dealer. I'm sure many players will regret trying to kill Belerick. That's all for this video. Thank you for watching.

I am FAR from perfect. Just because I have been walking a spiritual path and I’m able to connect with my intuition DOES NOT mean I am immune to hardships, pain and making decisions that go against my intuition from time to time. My life has never been easy. I have overcome many hardships and losses (including the transitioning of people I love most). I AM human. As a tarot reader I would NEVER believe that I am somehow your spiritual guide, leader, advisor or someone for you to look up to in anyway. I do believe that every hardship comes with a lesson. I always use those experiences to learn from rather than stay stuck in victim hood. On this platform I READ CARDS. I speak the messages that want to come through me and if they connect to you and your situation, it just shows you the power of tarot and energy. If I’m able to connect to just one person through tarot and it helps them see that they are not hopeless in a situation then I did my job right. Do I offer my opinion and guidance through tarot and oracle cards? Yes. But I don’t believe that that somehow makes me your counselor (even if that guidance is helpful or resonates). I don’t believe being a tarot reader makes me somehow a saint ( I really don’t know who started holding tarot readers up to that standard but I’m telling you right now, if you hold me up to that unreal expectation I will fail you). If I ever tell you I understand what you’re going through it’s because I have either lived through it, witnessed it (through someone close to me) or I’m going through it now. Still I choose Peace. Still I choose Serenity. Still I choose Love - despite the many challenging situations I have lived through since a very young age that I could have let define me and the course of my life. *If you find my videos and messages are “too positive” there are a plethora of other tarot readers out there that you may resonate with. One thing I have learned; however, is that I have never made progress while staying stuck in the dark. I have never seen anyone come out of darkness by continuing to perpetuate old ways of thinking and doing. I used to believe staying small and dimming my light was going to help others in some way. I only ended up hurting myself and ended up not having any resources (time, energy, money) to be able to offer support to anyone or any cause. I do spread peace, love and light on this channel because that’s part of my nature, but don’t get it twisted I have seen evil first hand, I have suffered through it. I’m not ignorant to social injustices. I have worked as a social worker and have witnessed tragedies at the hands of institutions. What’s my point? I recognize the world isn’t always fair. I recognize that the world isn’t all butterflies and rainbows but if I don’t talk about world affairs or social injustices on this channel it’s because this is not the platform I choose or want to do it on - not at this time anyway. Tarot Reading is only ONE facet of my life and what I do for a living, and I choose to keep this channel focused on general tarot readings about love, finances and personal growth and empowerment. I’m not here to tell you what you can’t do. Society does a fine job at that already. I’m here to support you. I’m here to support those looking to rewrite their personal stories. I see you. I see where you’re headed. I want to see you at your best, I want to see you shining in your light, fulfilled, loveable and abundant no matter what is going on around you. *All of my Tarot Readings are provided for Entertainment Purposes Only. Leo Horoscope August 2016: You Are Having The Midas touch, But Use It Judiciously

02:47
There seems to be a cosmic conspiracy to prosper you. http://www.dollymanghat.com Last month on the 22nd the planetary power moved to its maximum eastern position and stays on the same plateau till the 22nd, so personal power and independence are at their maximum, this is the period to have your own way and create the world you like. Create what makes you happy and do things you enjoy the way you want. Make the changes you long wanted to make later on its bound to get more difficult. It’s a nice feel to be in control of yourself being strong and powerful a great gift but there is downside to it too, if personal power is abused it can bring faster and stronger karmic kickbacks. Most of the ills that we see in this world are not due to Dis-empowerment but rather the reverse – to the abuse of power. So use your power wisely and lawfully. Love remains happy this month through for singles there are going to be ample opportunities to mingle especially by the 15th & 16th. Your love planet Uranus went retrograde at the end of last month so complication are going to be there, but you will also have the wherewithal to face and overcome them. The love life is happy barring a few glitches and delays. Do not rush into anything, allow situations to develop. The month ahead is prosperous as well. This is the headline of the month. Jupiter has been in your money house all year, Mercury entered the money house on July 31st. Venus will enter on the 5th and the Sun will enter on the 22nd. Thus the money house is full of beneficent planets. There seems to be a cosmic conspiracy to prosper you. Great geniuses are scheming, plotting and planning the best way to achieve this. You are in your yearly financial peak, you are having the Midas touch so use it judiciously. From the 22nd onward the focus will be on finance as it should be. However Mercury goes retrograde at the end of the month on the 30th so try wrapping important purchases or investments before. Prosperity will happen even during the retrograde albeit a bit slower. Health remained excellent last month and will remain so the month ahead. Looking for a personal consultation? Please contact me on [email protected] with your date, time and place of birth. The more data you start interrogating the more records you will return. Its always the same, you start off with basic criteria and before you know it you are referencing several tables to obtain the information your after. The questions being asked are no longer "what was the price of that product?" the questions are more generic, like "How many orders did we do this month?". The more tables you add to a query the more likley you are going to ask summary style questions of the data as you are no longer interested in specific records your more interested in trends. To get the ball rolling on this aspect of SQL you need to start using the group by clause. This clause allows the user to summarise information in the form of aggregated values which you assign to specific fields (i.e. group to them). This video will cover the basics of how you start grouping your data into summary information. The video will start by explaining on the small scale but then show you on multiple tables how it is achieved. This is not the end of the story with group by but this should give you the knowledge to plow into some rather meaty queries. This is one of many videos which can be seen at PCTeach.me.
