Top 6 BEST Universal Studios Hollywood Attractions! |Stix Top 6|

12:57
In today's episode of Stix Top 6, we fly over to Hollywood, California to check out Universal Studios Hollywood and count down the Top 6 BEST Attractions throughout the park! Twitter - https://twitter.com/SilverStixYT Reddit - https://www.reddit.com/user/SilverStix/ YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/c/SilverStix Universal Studios Hollywood is a film studio and theme park in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles County, California. About 70% of the studio lies within the unincorporated county island known as Universal City while the rest lies within the city limits of Los Angeles, California. It is one of the oldest and most famous Hollywood film studios still in use. Its official marketing headline is "The Entertainment Capital of LA". It was initially created to offer tours of the real Universal Studios sets and is the first of many full-fledged Universal Studios Theme Parks located across the world. Outside the theme park, a new, all-digital facility near the Universal Pictures backlot was built in an effort to merge all of NBCUniversal's West Coast operations into one area. As a result, the current home for KNBC, KVEA and NBC News with Telemundo Los Angeles Bureaus with new digital facility is on the Universal lot formerly occupied by Technicolor SA. Universal City includes hotels Universal Hilton & Towers, the Sheraton Universal Hotel, and Universal CityWalk, which offers a collection of shops, restaurants, an 18-screen Universal Cinema and a seven-story IMAX theater. In 2017, the park hosted 9,056,000 guests, ranking it 15th in the world and 9th among North American parks. Shortly after Music Corporation of America took over Universal Pictures in 1962, accountants suggested a new tour in the studio commissary would increase profits. On July 15, 1964, the modern tour was established to include a series of dressing room walk-through's, peeks at actual production, and later, staged events. This grew over the years into a full-blown theme park. The narrated tram tour (formerly "Glamor Trams") still runs through the studio's active backlot, but the staged events, stunt demonstrations and high-tech rides overshadow the motion-picture production that once lured fans to Universal Studios Hollywood. In 1965, the War Lord Tower opened as one of the first attractions in the theme park. One of the early struggles for Universal was coming up with things for young children to do. The existing small Ma & Pa Kettle Petting Zoo was expanded into the Ark Park. This area encompassed the Mt. Ararat petting zoo with over 200 animals and birds representing 30 species and a Noah's Nursery and a Noah's Love Inn playhouse for children and animals. This was followed by the opening of the Animal Actors' School Stage in 1970. In 1968 the Screen Actors Guild enacted a rule prohibiting visitors from most soundstages. This new rule coupled with more productions being shot on location meant the backlot tram tour could not show visitors much in the way of real movie and television production. Jay Stein, President of the Recreation Division championed the idea of creating exciting experiences for visitors in place of viewing actual production. Later that same year, the Flash Flood set was opened and this first special-effects attraction proved to be a hit. 20,000 gallons of water rushed 200 feet down a narrow Mexican village street, uprooting an old tree and threatening to engulf the tram. The Parting of the Red Sea attraction opened in 1973. In 1974, the Rockslide staged event was added to the Studio Tour. The following year The Land of a Thousand Faces opened on the Upper Lot. In 1979, the Battle of Galactica replaced Rockslide as a staged event on the Studio Tour. The Flintstones Show opened, replacing the Star Trek Adventure. In 1991, E.T. Adventure opened as the park's first "dark ride," an industry term for an attraction that uses ride vehicles to take passengers through an indoor show building. Around the same time, sister park Universal Studios Florida opened, which had its own, similar E.T. attraction. The Florida version was more of a conventional theme park and paved the way for the Hollywood park's evolution. In 1993, Back to the Future: The Ride opened, replacing Battle of Galactica. In 1996, Jurassic Park: The Ride opened. In 1997, two shows were replaced: The Land Before Time show replaced Rocky and Bullwinkle Live; and Totally Nickelodeon replaced the Flintstones Show. Just one year after it opened, the Land Before Time show was replaced with Coke Soak. In 1999, T2-3D: Battle Across Time and a Chicken Run Walkthrough opened on the upper lot. Additionally, Beetlejuice's Rock and Roll Graveyard Revue was closed.

Universal Studios Hollywood in 4K! Los Angeles, California

34:19
This is a 4K video of Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles, California. Video captured during the daytime setup of Halloween Horror Nights. Universal Studios is a relatively short drive to Disneyland. Universal Studios is in the northern part of LA, whereas Disneyland is more in the southern part. If you have time to visit both Disneyland and Universal Studios, do it! Although there is much construction in 2018 at the park, you’ll find the live attractions in 2018 are similar. This video was shot in 4K at 30 FPS using an iPhone 8. I also used a stability bar (but no gimbal). In this video, I walk around the park and take the studio backlot tour. It's a quick cut of various attractions you'll find at Universal Studios Hollywood. You'll see glimpses of food areas as well. And a quick clip of animal actors. The best rides and the backlot are here at the park. It’s also right next to Citywalk, here in Los Angeles! Also known as estudios universales in Spanish. Let this walkthrough video guide you.

[4K] Jurassic Park Ride - NOW CLOSED at Universal Studios Hollywood

11:09
[4K] Jurassic Park the Ride is now closed for a massive transformation over to Jurassic World Ride. We got to experience Jurassic Park the ride for the final time last week before it goes extinct. An immersive Jurassic World Ride will replace Jurassic Park Ride. The new ride is scheduled to open in 2019 at Universal Studios Hollywood. The ride video was filmed in August 2018. Since the falling jeep wasn't working in the first clip of the video, we've decided to add another footage that we recorded last year to show how it looks like if everything was working properly. As a added bonus, you will also get to see the new Blue raptor meet and greet from Jurassic World at the end of the video.

Universal Studios Hollywood - VIP Tour

01:04:09
I do a Universal Studios VIP tour! What you NEED to know about the Universal Studios Hollywood VIP tour, is that it's a lot of fun to see the Universal Studios Hollywood VIP tour in such a unique new light! universal studios hollywood - vip tour This is video about the VIP Tours in Universal Studios Hollywood. The footage you see in this video was filmed on two different occasions. February 5 and February 10, 2018. Because this is a compilation of two different VIP Tours it is very unlikely that you will see everything in this video on your own VIP Tour. This video is leaning towards The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It is a new and exiting theme park to which in comparison a lot of the other rides just look old and not anymore up to date, therefore I did not mention them in this video. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a themed area at Universal Studios Hollywood theme park near Los Angeles, California. The area is themed to the Harry Potter media franchise, adapting elements from the film series and novels by J.K. Rowling. The attraction—the second Harry Potter-themed area to exist at a Universal resort—was designed by Universal Creative from an exclusive license with Warner Bros. Entertainment. After the successful debut of a similarly-themed area at Universal Orlando Resort, Universal Parks & Resorts announced the construction of a second Wizarding World of Harry Potter on December 6, 2011. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter officially began operation on April 7, 2016. The VIP ticket is $329 per person regardless of age. With the VIP Pass you can go on any ride unlimited times bypassing the line. The VIP ticket also includes free Valet parking, free breakfast and lunch at a very good restaurant only for VIP Tour Members.

History of: Universal Studios Hollywood Backlot (Universal City) Los Angeles, California

09:29
100 Years of Universal: The Lot (10 minutes): A behind-the-scenes look at the movie magic created on the famous Universal Studios lot. On March 15, 1915, Carl Laemmle officially opened the gates of Universal City, the world’s first self-contained community dedicated to making movies. According to eyewitness accounts, over 15,000 people were present for Universal City’s opening day ceremonies. At the time of Universal City’s opening, the new municipality had nearly 500 residents. Among them were 75 Indians who lived in tepees on the backlot, western riders, movie “soldiers” and workmen. Although the studio officially opened in 1915, film production on the lot began in 1914. Damon and Pythias, co-starring William Worthington and Herbert Rowlinson, was the first picture completed at Universal City. As movie production at Universal City increased, a steady stream of silent films including westerns, comedies, and action-adventures became Universal’s trademark. Laemmle also began inviting visitors to Universal City to observe his movie making, establishing Universal’s long-standing tradition of welcoming guests to enjoy the behind-the-scenes magic. However, the Universal tour was temporarily halted in the late 1920s, when “talkies” became the norm and producers demanded a set free of visitor noise. A few of Universal’s most notable feature films of these early years include The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923), The Phantom of the Opera (1925), and All Quiet on the Western Front (1930). All Quiet on the Western Front won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1930. Universal also became well known for its horror films of the early 1930s. These productions included such classics as Dracula, The Mummy,m Frankenstein, and Bride of Frankenstein. In 1936, Carl Laemmle retired from the movie industry and sold Universal to the Standard Capital Company. In the years that immediately followed, the studio relied heavily on Deanna Durbin musicals, Abbott and Costello comedies, and Francis the Talking Mule. When Universal merged with International Pictures in 1946, Leo Spitz and William Goetz from International took over production, and the company became known as Universal-International. The production of Hamlet by Universal-International in association with J. Arthur Rank of England won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1948. In 1950, Universal acquired 140 acres of land adjoining the southern boundary of the studio, increasing the overall size of Universal City to 400 acres. 1952 brought another merger to Universal when Decca Records bought the company. Under the leadership of Milton Rackmil, President of Decca and Universal, and Edward Muhl, production head, some of the notable features of this era included Pillow Talk, Operation Petticoat, To Kill A Mocking Bird, The Glenn Miller Story, and Spartacus. In December 1958, MCA, Inc. purchased the Universal City Studio Lot. MCA’s Revue Television Productions relocated to Universal City, and Universal Pictures then leased back its property from MCA. This arrangement lasted three years until MCA and Universal officially merged in 1962. Jules Stein founded MCA, or the Music Corporation of America, in 1924 as a Chicago-based agency that booked bands into clubs and dance halls. The legacy of MCA was expanded and enriched by Lew Wasserman, who joined the company in 1936, became President in 1946, and over the years built MCA from a leading talent agency into a diversified global leader in the world of entertainment..." ~ http://www.universalstudioslot.com/about-us Spoken: Steven Spielberg - Director, Jurassic Park Michael Mann - Co-Writer/Director, Public Enemies Paul Rudd - Actor, The 40-Year-Old Virgin Peyton Reed - Director, The Break-Up Jeff Pirtle - Director, Archives & Collections NBC Universal Ivan Reitman - Producer, National Lampoon's Animal House Peter Berg - Director/Producer, Battleship Dan Aykroyd - Actor, The Blues Brothers Molly Orr - Studio Tour Guide, Universal Studios Hollywood John Landis - Director, National Lampoon's Animal House Ron Howard - Director, Apollo 13 John Carpenter - Director, The Thing (1982) Phil Alden Robinson - Writer/Director, Field of Dreams Meryl Streep - Actor, Out of Africa Stage 28 - Phantom Stage (Phantom of The Opera - 1924) Theatre ©2012 Universal Studios. This was the famous Universal Studios Hollywood Tram Ride Tour we took in late June 2017. It was a blast, literally at times. Highlights included King Kong 360 3D, the Jaws Shark, Norman Bates coming at us with a knife, a flash flood, earthquake and the Fast & Furious chase. From 1915, when visitors sat on bleachers for 25 cents, to the 1964 introduction of pink and white GlamorTrams, to the current technological sophistication, the behind-the-scenes view of a working movie studio has been a large attraction. During the early years of the tram tour (1964–1965) all of the attractions at Universal were reached via the tram. The tour originally departed from the front lot commissary. In 1965, the upper lot studio tour center opened. In 1991, the tram boarding was moved to the lower lot following the construction of the Starway escalator system. In 1996, boarding moved back to the upper lot to make room for Jurassic Park: The Ride. As the movie studio has continued to evolve, the tour has evolved along with it. In late 1989, CD players finally gave the tour guides a chance to rest their voices. In 2000, the CD players were replaced by DVD players and LCD screens, allowing the tour guides to show scenes from movies filmed at the locations which the tram passes. In 2011, Jimmy Fallon joined the tour as a video host to supplement the live-action narration and also appeared in some filming scenes. Since 2006, some studio tours have bypassed the Collapsing Bridge, due to aging and wearing. However, the bridge has since undergone renovations, and was added back to the tour schedules in August 2008. Since July 2010, the Collapsing Bridge has been used as a representation of the Skull Island area for the new King Kong: 360 3-D attraction. #UniversalStudiosHollywood #UniversalStudiosHollywoodStudioTour #UniversalStudios

Carl Laemmle Founder Universal Pictures Studios Hollywood City - 100 Years of Universal

08:42
100 Years of Universal: The Carl Laemmle Era (HD, 9 minutes): Universal founder Carl Laemmle and his vision for the future of cinema. A century later, that vision still resonates. Carl Laemmle (born Karl Lämmle; January 17, 1867 – September 24, 1939) was a pioneer in American film making and a founder of Universal Studios. Laemmle produced or worked on over 400 films. Regarded as one of the most important of the early film pioneers, Laemmle was born in modern-day Germany. He emigrated to the United States in 1884 and worked in Chicago for 20 years before he began buying nickelodeons, eventually expanding into a film distribution service, the Laemmle Film Service. After moving to New York, Carl Laemmle got involved in producing movies, forming Independent Moving Pictures (IMP); the city was the site of many new movie-related businesses. On April 30, 1912, in New York, Laemmle of IMP, Pat Powers of Powers Motion Picture Company, Mark Dintenfass of Champion Film Company, William Swanson of Rex Motion Picture Company, David Horsley of Nestor Film Company, and Charles Baumann and Adam Kessel of the New York Motion Picture Company, merged their studios and incorporated the Universal Film Manufacturing Company, with Laemmle assuming the role of president. They founded the Company with studios in Fort Lee, New Jersey, where many early film studios in America's first motion picture industry were based at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1915, the studio moved to 235 acres (0.95 km2) of land in the San Fernando Valley, California. Universal maintained two East Coast offices: The first was located at 1600 Broadway, New York City. This building, initially known as The Studebaker building, was razed around 2004-5. The second location to house Universal's executive offices was at 730 Fifth Avenue, New York City. Many years later, 445 Park Avenue was the location of Universal's executive offices. After moving to California, Laemmle purchased as a residence for his family the former home of film pioneer Thomas Ince on Benedict Canyon Drive, Beverly Hills. The house was razed in the early 1940s. Laemmle also maintained a large apartment for himself and his two children, Rosabelle Laemmle (later Bergerman) and Carl Jr., at 465 West End Avenue, New York City, one block off Riverside Drive near the Hudson River. In 1916, Laemmle sponsored the $3,000 three-foot-tall solid silver Universal Trophy for the winner of the annual Universal race at the Uniontown Speedway board track in southwestern Pennsylvania. Universal filmed each race from 1916 to 1922. Carl Laemmle, although having made hundreds of movies in his active years as a producer (1909-1934), is probably best remembered for The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923), The Phantom of The Opera (1925), both with Lon Chaney Sr. in the title role, and The Man Who Laughs (1928). He died from cardiovascular disease on September 24, 1939, in Beverly Hills, California, at the age of 72.Laemmle was entombed in the Chapel Mausoleum at Home of Peace Cemetery." ~ wikipedia.org Spoken: Steven J. Top 6 WORST Universal Studios Hollywood Attractions! |Stix Top 6|

13:33
In today's episode of Stix Top 6, we're still sticking around in California as we count down the Top 6 WORST Attractions in all of Universal Studios, Hollywood!
