RUSSIA PANIC: Two Russian Navy Escorts Three NATO Warships in Black Sea on Way to Ukraine

10:56
RUSSIA PANIC: Two Russian Navy Escorts Three NATO Warships in Black Sea on Way to Ukraine - Two Russian warships are escorting three frigates of the NATO in the Black Sea, Russian media reported Friday. The Ivan Khurs reconnaissance ship and the Vasily Bykov corvette of the Russia Black Sea Fleet are monitoring the movement of the NATO vessels, TASS news agency said, quoting the National Defense Management Center. Turkish DNA agency reported earlier in the day that three frigates, Canadian Toronto, Spanish Santa Maria and Dutch Evertsen, have passed the Bosporus Strait on their way to the Black Sea. The commander of a NATO maritime group said Dutch, Spanish, Canadian, Turkish, Romanian and Bulgarian frigates entered the Black Sea on Thursday. The warships are part of the alliance’s defense cooperation exercises taking place on April 8-12. Two of the frigates are scheduled to make a port call in the Ukrainian city of Odessa on April 1. The NATO has been conducting exercises with Georgia, located on the Black Sea, From March 18 to March 29, involving 343 military and civilian personnel from 21 NATO members, Azerbaijan, Sweden and Georgia. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed "concerns about Russia's military build-up in the Black Sea region" at a press conference on Monday in Georgia's capital of Tbilisi. Stoltenberg said NATO has increased its presence in the Black Sea to address the "security challenges." Russia has just completed drills in Crimea, involving more than 1,500 paratroopers, over 300 pieces of equipment, warplanes, helicopters and large landing ships, the Russian Defense Ministry said Friday. NATO and Russian military maneuvers were conducted ahead of the Ukrainian presidential election on March 31, when incumbent President Petro Poroshenko will seek a re-election. Russia issued a statement criticizing “frequent visitors” to the Black Sea in January, when the U.S. Navy-guided missile destroyer Donald Cook entered the region. The Russian Black Sea fleet began monitoring the warship at the time as well. According to international law, vessels belonging to states that do not border the Black Sea path are allowed to stay there for no more than 21 days. Royal Navy warship swarmed by force of Russian jets in Black Sea raid

10:09
Royal Navy warship swarmed by force of Russian jets in Black Sea raid The action took place earlier this year as HMS Duncan sailed 30 miles off the coast of Crimea – the closest any British Royal Navy warship has come since Russia annexed the peninsula in 2014. The worrying display of airborne aggression, captured on camera by a Channel 5 documentary crew embarked on Duncan, has been branded ‘unprecedented’ by naval top brass At points the warplanes hurtled just a few hundred feet away from the £1bn destroyer, while brazenly ignoring repeated warnings from the ship. The Russian pilots were flying so dangerously close to Duncan’s high-powered radar system that their jets’ electronics could have been scrambled, causing the planes to crash – and potentially sparking a major international incident.

NATO in the Black Sea: How will Russia Respond

04:11
NATO in the Black Sea: How will Russia Respond - NATO plans to deploy warships to the Black Sea to ensure safe passage for Ukrainian vessels through the Kerch Strait, effectively controlled by Russia. If the Kremlin allows such transit, NATO and Ukraine will doubtlessly see that as a sign of Russian weakness. The Kerch Strait, as well as the whole Crimean Peninsula, is a de-facto part of Russia, and any unauthorized passage through Russian territorial waters would be a clear violation of Russian sovereignty. NATO and Ukraine, on the other hand, never recognized the Russian annexation of Crimea, and therefore they claim they have the right to freely access the Sea of Azov through the Kerch Strait. Tensions in Black Sea As Russian and Ukrainian Ships Clash Near Strategic Bridge

05:15
MOSCOW (AP) — Russia and Ukraine traded accusations over an incident at sea Sunday near the disputed Crimean Peninsula, increasing tensions between both countries and prompting Moscow to block passage through the Kerch Strait. Russia’s coast guard said that three Ukrainian navy ships made an unauthorized crossing through Russian territorial waters, while Ukraine alleged that one of its boats was rammed by a Russian coast guard vessel. The Kerch Strait is a narrow body of water nestled between Crimea and the Russian mainland. The incident began after the Ukrainian navy claimed a Russian coast guard vessel rammed one of its tugboats, which was traveling with two Ukrainian navy artillery boats from Odessa on the Black Sea to Mariupol in the Sea of Azov, via the Kerch Strait. “Russian coast guard vessels … carried out openly aggressive actions against Ukrainian navy ships,” the Ukrainian navy statement said. It said a Russian coast guard ship damaged the tugboat’s engine, hull, side railing and a lifeboat. The statement added that Russia had been informed in advance about the planned journey. Russia then blocked off the strait. The move comes after months of growing tensions between Ukraine and Russia, which annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014 and has steadily worked to increase its zone of control around the peninsula. The Kerch Strait is the only passage into the Sea of Azov beyond it. The strait is crossed by the recently completed Kerch Bridge, connecting Crimea to Russia. Transit under the bridge has been blocked by a tanker ship, and dozens of cargo ships awaiting passage are stuck. Russia has not given any indication of how long it will keep the strait blocked off, but a long-term closure to civilian traffic would amount to an economic blockade of Ukrainian cities on the Azov coast. And Russia’s Black Sea Fleet greatly outmatches the Ukrainian navy. Ukrainian cities on the Sea of Azov include strategically vital centers such as Mariupol — the closest government-controlled city to Donetsk and Luhansk, the breakaway regions of eastern Ukraine controlled by Russia-backed separatists. Russia’s Federal Security Service, known as the FSB, told Russian news agencies Sunday that the Ukrainian ships held their course and violated Russian territorial waters. The FSB accused the Ukrainian navy of staging a provocation against Russia. “Their goal is clear,” an FSB statement said — “to create a conflict situation in the region.” The statement didn’t mention ramming a Ukrainian tugboat. Though a 2003 treaty designates the Kerch Strait and Sea of Azov as shared territorial waters, Russia has been asserting greater control over the passage since 2015. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Russia’s actions were a violation of the U.N. Charter and international law, and pledged to “promptly inform our partners about Russia’s aggressive actions.” “Such actions pose a threat to the security of all states in the Black Sea region,” the statement said, “and therefore require a clear response from the international community.” Dmitry Kiselyov, a commentator on the state-controlled Rossiya channel, told viewers of his Sunday evening news program that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko — encouraged by the U.S. — is looking to pick a fight with Russia in the Black Sea. The talk show host also said that the U.S. talked Poroshenko into staging a provocation against Russia as a means to disrupt the upcoming meeting between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump at this week’s Group of 20 summit in Argentina. “What is happening now at the (Kerch) bridge threatens to turn into a very unpleasant story,” Kiselyov warned. http://bit.ly/2Bwy0hF Subscribe To The New Channel: https://www.youtube.com/POTUSTrumpKAG ✝ Please Donate Just $1 A Month. Russian Su-27 fighter jet intercepts US surveillance plane over Black Sea

The Russian military has sent a Sukhoi Su-27 twin-engine fighter aircraft to identify a US Airforce P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol plane as it was approaching the Russian state border from the Black Sea. The Su-27 came within a safe distance from the US spy plane, forcing the Boeing-produced aircraft to “immediately” change course and turn away from the Russian border, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported Friday. The intercept comes amid large-scale Sea Breeze exercises, featuring Ukraine, the US and over a dozen NATO allies, that kicked off in the Black Sea on July, 1. Over 30 warships and 24 aircraft are involved in the drills. Russian SU-27 unsafe intercept of U.S. aircraft, Black Sea 1/29/2018

01:55
U.S. Navy video of a U.S. EP-3 Aries aircraft flying Jan. 29, 2018, in international airspace over the Black Sea being intercepted by a Russian Su-27. This interaction was determined to be unsafe due to the Su-27 closing to within five feet and crossing directly through the EP-3's flight path, causing the EP-3 to fly through the Su-27's jet wash. The duration of the intercept lasted two hours and 40 minutes. The Russian military is within its right to operate within international airspace, but they must behave within international standards set to ensure safety and prevent incidents, including the 1972 Agreement for the Prevention of Incidents on and Over the High Seas (INCSEA). Unsafe actions‎ increase the risk of miscalculation and midair collisions. The U.S. aircraft was operating in accordance with international law and did not provoke this Russian activity.

Training with Russian Paratroopers on the Black Sea – In The Army Now Ep.23

26:39
Anna and Pavel are in Novorossiysk on the shores of the Black sea where they join one of the most celebrated Russian air assault divisions. They will be training with paratroopers known as the “Blue Berets”. There are many myths surrounding this branch of the military. The army explorers want to know if paratroopers must get a special tattoo and whether they swim in fountains on Paratrooper Day. They also find it hard to believe that it’s possible to parachute out of a plane inside an armoured assault vehicle. Will any of these myths check out? The new recruits are given paratrooper uniforms, including their signature blue and white striped vests. One thing their outfits are missing is a blue beret. To earn it, a serviceman has to complete a parachute jump. Their commanders have dozens, even hundreds of jumps under their belts, but new paratroopers need to undergo extensive training before they are let loose with a parachute. Being a paratrooper is not all about parachute jumps, there are many other crucial skills Anna and Pavel have to learn. They start with mastering firearms. From a sniper rifle, to an anti-tank rocket launcher, to a tank itself – they give everything a go. To their surprise, however, training begins with a shooting simulator where they use life-size model weapons seek out the enemy on a giant monitor. Combining business and pleasure, they get to play a videogame while learning to protect their homeland. Russia Has Annexed Black Sea Provinces Before

23:18
Crisis in the Caucasus (2008): As Russian tanks rolled into South Ossetia, the world's eyes turned East. In the West the message was clear: Georgia falls victim to Russian aggression. But is our media telling us the whole story? For downloads and more information visit: http://www.journeyman.tv/?lid=59119 Today Abkhazia, previously a province of Georgia, is celebrating independence after Russian military forced Georgia out of the province. The sky flashes with fireworks and Abkhazians dance in the streets. But few outside share Abkhazia's enthusiasm. 'Russia is now directly telling all its neighbours that it will be using force -- that it is trying to restore its lost empire', says Georgi Badrize, a Georgian diplomat. Few in the West would disagree. But in Abkhazia's Parliament, president Sergey Bagapsh is giving official thanks to Russia. This day, he tells us, marks the end of decades of Georgian abuse. 'People were starving', he says. 'We couldn't treat our kids, we were not allowed to import medications'. Many Azkhazians are angered by the pro-Georgian stance of Western media. 'Everybody thinks that the Georgians deserve independence and freedom and the right to be part of the international community', says humanitarian worker Liana Kvarchelia, 'and we are not'. Bagapsh claims that it is not only the media that is biased in Georgia's favour. He provides our reporter with an armed guard and permission to enter the border region between Abkhasia and Georgia, where he claims we will find evidence that the UN and NATO were complicit in Georgia's illegally stockpiling of weapons for an attck against Abkazia. Russian Navy's Deadly Plan to Defend the Black Sea, Against US, Nato, Ukrainian Naval Formations

11:46
Russia's Deadly Plan to Defend the Black Sea Against US, Nato, Ukrainian Naval Formations As the State Armament Program (S A P) 2011 to 2020 is coming to an end, Moscow has floated a new military program for the 2018 to 2027 period. Despite the sanctions, economic difficulties and the collapse of oil revenues, the Russian Navy has demonstrated that it can contribute to Russia’s international posture, as demonstrated during the Moscow’s Syrian campaign. Among the five Russian naval formations—namely the Northern, Baltic, Black Sea, and Pacific fleets as well the Caspian flotilla—the Black Sea fleet has undergone the most remarkable changes since 2010. Although modest by their number and their tonnage, its units are involved in operations in the Black Sea basin, the Mediterranean, and more sporadically, beyond the Suez Canal and the Gibraltar Straits, in the “World Ocean.” New platforms inducted in the course of the 2011 to 2020 S A P have provided the Black Sea fleet with enhanced multirole capabilities, in spite of difficulties experienced by the VPK—the Russian military-industrial complex—to meet the objectives outlined in the armament program. While the Black Sea Fleet is inexorably transitioning to a green-water force, it features a growing ability to carry out cruise-missile strikes way beyond Russia’s immediate neighborhood. Furthermore, it retains the ability to operate in remote maritime areas, such as the Levant. Revamping the Black Sea Fleet: Half a Success The modernization plan of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet outlined in the 2011 to 2020 S A P has not been fulfilled as originally thought. However, it has already produced tangible results, the first of which being the end of the continuing attrition of the operational capacities that affected the Russian navy during the 1990s and most of the 2000s. However, the Euro-Atlantic sanctions, on the one hand, and the rupture of the cooperation between the Russian VPK and Western and Ukrainian defense industries, on the other hand, have jeopardized the construction of some platforms, while delaying the completion of other new units. From the six initially planned frigates (Admiral Grigorovicth type), only three have been commissioned, whereas the three others have been left without their Ukrainian made turbines. Russia is waiting for Saturn—a Russian company based in Rybinsk—to come up with a national replacement solution, something that could be done in 2018. small missiles ships and anti-saboteur boats received until 2014 their German made engines, manufactured by MTU. Russian VPK have had to turn to China after the Ukrainian crisis to find a replacement solution after Germany ceased its cooperation with Russia. Chinese turbines are problematic, since the they do not seem powerful enough. Only the five first units have received their German turbines. Three of them have been assigned to the Caspian flotilla, which is regrouped together with the Black Sea Fleet in the Southern Military District. The two other missiles ships have been transferred to the Baltic Fleet. Russia’s objectives to enhance its submarine capabilities in the Black Sea have been met successfully; the six planned conventional submarines have all been inducted in the fleet. They carry Kalibar cruise missiles, and together with the new frigates and small missiles ships, they have carried out cruise missiles strikes in Syria from the Eastern Mediterranean. Dispatched in the Levant and in the Black Sea basin, these platforms can hit targets in most of Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia. Acknowledging the technical and financial difficulties raised by the sanctions and the cessation of industrial cooperation with foreign actors, Russia decided in 2014 to 2015 to launch two new construction programs for the Black Sea Fleet: small missiles ships and small patrol boats. Kalibar cruise missiles while being a very light surface platform at only 800 tons. Seven units have already been laid down, all slated for the Black Sea Fleet, with the lead ship scheduled to be commissioned in 2018. Meanwhile, the Black Sea Fleet’s only high sea vessel, the Soviet-era missiles cruiser Moskva , should undergo a reparation and deep-modernization cycle in the near future, possibly at Sevastopol shipyard. The S A P 2011 to 2020 does not include any refreshment, let alone expansion, of the blue water capacities of the Russian navy at all. subscribe : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9IFRHTtYJFjhI5fBrLIJiQ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DNA997

The U.S. is trying to overcome its partners' dissatisfaction with Trump's policy by allying against Moscow. A third of the agenda at NATO's anniversary meeting, which begins in Washington, is dedicated to anti-Russian measures. The holiday is celebrated modestly, at the ministerial level.

PUTIN ANGRY: Russia lashes out at NATO over ‘aggravating’ Black Sea military build up

10:55
PUTIN ANGRY : Russia lashes out at NATO over ‘aggravating’ Black Sea military build-up RUSSIA has issued an ominous threat after NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg revealed plans to beef up its military presence in the Black Sea - warning such a move had the potential to aggravate still further simmering tensions in the region. The country’s Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko was speaking in advance of the arrival of several NATO warships which will conduct a series of naval drills in the Black Sea in the next few days. He told Russia’s state-run news agency TASS: "This is not a surprise for us; they have been saying for a while that they want to strengthen their positions in the Black Sea. We are talking about the strengthening of military and maritime forces of NATO member states, first and foremost, Romania and Bulgaria, plus non-coastal states entering the Black Sea more often. "It is our understanding that this activity aggravates the situation in the sphere of security." Sounding a conciliatory note, he added: "The Black Sea has always been the sea of cooperation, even taking into account certain conflicts. "We need to strengthen security through increasing cooperation in the spheres of energy and transport. First and foremost, this is necessary for the Black Sea states. "As for the military matters, we strictly adhere to the provisions of the Montreux Convention, which has been a key element of the security architecture in the region for dozens of years.” The Convention, which was signed in 1936 and gives Turkey control over Turkish Straits which link the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea, was “unique” because it covers maritime military matters, Mr Grushko said. He added: “Secondly, BLACKSEAFOR [the Black Sea Naval Cooperation Task Group] continues to exist, which unites all states and is aimed at fulfilling strictly peaceful tasks, namely maritime search and rescue, as well as tasks related to new security threats.” Speaking at a press conference in Brussels yesterday, Mr Stoltenberg said the alliance was looking to strengthen its presence in the Black Sea to support Ukraine, from which Russia annexed Crimea in 2014. He added: “NATO allies have of course clearly stated that Russia's aggressive actions against Ukraine are unacceptable.” Referring to recent military clashes in which a Russian warship rammed three Ukrainian vessels, and the subsequent arrest of 24 Ukrainian sailors, he added: “The illegal annexation of Crimea, the continuing efforts to try to destabilise Ukraine through its efforts and presence in Donbas, and also, of course, the totally unjustified seizure of the Ukrainian ships near the Kerch Strait. "We are now looking into what more we can do, "We are looking into whether we can increase our presence in the Black Sea and in the near future, in a few days, we'll have NATO ships in the Black Sea, participating in an exercise. “So we have significantly increased our presence at sea but also in the air and on land in the Black Sea region. “All of this is also part of our support to Ukraine.” His comments came two days after he said NATO “planning for a world without the INF Treaty”, a reference to the landmark 1987 agreement signed by Mikhail Gorbachev and Ronald Reagan aimed at limiting nuclear proliferation, which the United States pulled out of last month, citing alleged Russian violations. Mr Stoltenberg, who was gearing for a meeting with defence ministers of NATO’s member states, added: “We will discuss what steps NATO should take to adapt to a world with more Russian missiles. “Any steps we take will be coordinated, measured, and defensive. “And we do not intend to deploy new ground-based nuclear missiles in Europe.” Subscribe Now : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0IlEuu4TA9wq1u60tLMqBw?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://facebook.com/USMilitaryNewsVideos Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/militaryvideos_ Twitter:

Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Ross ( DDG-71 ) has entered the Black Sea. As per the statement released by U.S. 6th Fleet, “ Ross is conducting maritime security operations and enhancing regional maritime stability, combined readiness and naval capability with NATO allies and regional partners,” Cmdr. Dave Coles, commanding officer of Ross, said in the statement, “Our allies in the Black Sea continue to play a key role in maintaining security in the European theater. The crew and I look forward to enhancing our interoperability in a dynamic environment as well as experiencing the rich history and culture in this region.” Viewers may note that according to the Montreux Convention, signed in 1936, which regulates the transit of naval warships in the Black Sea, non-Black Sea nations can only send vessels which have displacements of less than 15,000 tons and these ships can stay for a maximum of 21 days. USS Ross is well within the limit and the transit is not in violation of Montreux Convention. Russian National Defense Management Center, "The Black Sea Fleet forces are constantly monitoring the movement of the US Navy’s Ross guided-missile destroyer that entered the Black Sea on April 14, 2019" It further added “Upon entering the Black Sea, the US navy ship was placed under constant monitoring involving the Fleet’s coastal surveillance facilities. In addition, the Vasily Bykov patrol vessel and the Ivan Khurs reconnaissance ship are directly monitoring the US warship’s activities," In this video, Defense Updates analyses why Russia should fear the presence of USS Ross in the Black Sea?
