Day Trip To Giethoorn, Netherlands - The Village Without Roads | Travel Vlog | World Culture Network

11:58
Next, on #TheDayTripShow, we took a day trip from to Giethoorn from Amsterdam. We were pretty excited to know that Giethoorn, Netherlands - the village without roads. After we Giethoorn village, we rented a private boat and started boating around the canals. Giethoorn, also known as the Venice of the North is the water village of Holland and has more canals than roads. The best part of our trip was that to explore Giethoorn in winters was not very usual, as a result, we were the only tourists there and had all the space to enjoy without the crowds. After boating, we walked around Giethoorn, Netherlands. After some delicious pizza, it was time to return from Giethoorn to Amsterdam. But what a fun, serene and memorable day it had been! Had to share it with all of you in this episode of the show. #TuneInToWCN to watch The Day Trip Show, a show in which we take day trips from popular cities to smaller towns, cities, and countries and explore them within the day! We spent the day in Maastricht, Holland trying all the local foods. As you know Theodora is Dutch so she is taking us around and showing you the MUST TRY DUTCH FOODS. We went on a day trip to Maastricht and it ended up being a lot of fun. Masstricht has so much to offer with walking bridges going over the Meuse River, Our Beloved Lady Square (Onze Lieve Vrouweplein) and Het Vrijthof. But around Christmas time this city is even more magical with Magisch Maastricht with Kerstmarkt Maastricht which is a lovely Christmas market. _________________________________________________________ We gave up our business and sold all our belongings in the UK to YouTube our way around the world with the goal to make this our career. AMSTERDAM ON A BUDGET | The Cheapest Breakfasts | Travel to The Netherlands, Holland, 2016 Full HD

This week we discover the cheapest breakfasts in Amsterdam. I love this place for their lunches! For this breakfast test they were not the cheapest though... Ikea Amsterdam - Budget breakfast for one euro only! Pretty far out of town though... Hema and Bakker Bart on the Kalverstraat. Right at the center. Note Hema opens at 9 o'clock but Bakker Bart only at 9.30. Jumbo foodmarket. It's in north, but one of my favorites. Only 1,50 euro - very good quality food and a great ambiance. If the last spot wouldn't be there, this would be my favorite by far! La Place at the top of the OBA (Amsterdam library). Here you can create your own breakfast, with cinnamon cookies or yoghurt, fresh fruit, granola, eggs - you name it. When the weather is good, go sit outside, the views over Amsterdam are amazing! For 3,25 euro each - you'll have an amazing starter of the day. One day in Amsterdam | Netherlands | Ein Tag in Amsterdam First time in Netherlands and in Amsterdam! I was in Amsterdam on business for a day and used my free time to explore the city. You have to get used to the smells of the many "coffee shops", but the beautiful old town quickly distracts you. And of course I explored Amsterdam with a boat trip and it was an electric boat! It was great! :) Of course I'll come back and bring more time! °°° Instagram: https://bit.ly/2OcIHZY Facebook: https://bit.ly/2ObE7eq TripAdvisor: https://bit.ly/2El179j Tip | Trinkgeld: https://paypal.me/pools/c/8bvNaS376k Music: epidemicsound.com ***Airbnb Rabattaktion | Airbnb discount campaign*** https://bit.ly/2JSs2cV Erhalte einen Rabatt auf dein erstes Abenteuer! Visit The Netherlands - What to Know Before You Visit The Netherlands

12:12
Read the Blog for More Information on The Netherlands: https://woltersworld.com/all-the-little-things-to-know-before-you-visit-the-netherlands/ Heading to The Netherlands & Not Sure What to Expect? Well here we go through the top things that tourists should know when they visit The Netherlands. 1. It is The Netherlands, Not Holland. Holland is the name of two counties in The Netherlands. 2. The language of The Netherlands is Dutch, but as a tourist you really do not need to know any Dutch as the Dutch speak English extremely well throughout the country. 3. The Euro is the currency in The Netherlands and you can find ATMs all over the country. Credit cards are widely accepted as well. 4. The Netherlands is a small country with a very well developed transportation network. Therefore you can easily take trains all over the country in a fast and efficient way. Make sure you tap in and out with your tickets as you enter your platforms. 5. Biking is a very popular pastime and way to get around Dutch cities. There are a number of bike rental agencies throughout The Netherlands. Look for one near a train station and rent a bike for the day to explore, or sign up for one of the numerous bike tours around the country. 6. The Netherlands is rather safe for tourists. Do take care with pickpockets and extremely aggressive beggars in Amsterdam's more popular areas. The bike line is for bikes only so watch out unless you want to get hit by a bike and yelled at by a local. 7. Drugs bring a lot of tourists to Amsterdam and the Dutch/German border. If you are going to The Netherlands to experiment with soft drugs make sure you go to a "Coffee House" they have menus and trained personnel that can help travelers. We do not recommend you do drugs and highly discourage travelers from doing this. However, we do know a number of tourists do go there for that. So please be safe, and speak with the coffee shop attendant about your previous experiences so they can help you. 9. The best things about the Netherlands are the quaint cities and towns like Haarlem, Leiden, Groningen, as well as the larger cities of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The architecture and museums throughout the country really are outstanding. And yes you will see quite a few windmills as you explore The Netherlands. 10. The food is hearty in The Netherlands, make sure you try a bitter ballen or a traditional pancake or herring from one of the stalls. The market and food halls have tons of great treats for travelers. There are numerous international restaurants all over The Netherlands as well. 11. The Netherlands is not a cheap place to visit, however the prices are on par with the US & other major European destinations. Amsterdam accomodation will be your biggest expense. Therefore you may want to stay outside of Amsterdam to have a cheaper and more Dutch experience. Haarlem, Netherlands (Holland) travel video

18:39
The historic city of Haarlem is one of the most attractive destinations in the Netherlands. We show the main neighborhoods you want to have a look at when you're visiting Haarlem, a real Dutch treat. In the center the market square with the great church towering over, and just below there is a series of pedestrian lanes lined with shops and cafés that are very charming, and there are little side residential lanes here as well. Haarlem is only 15 minutes away from Amsterdam by train, so it makes an easy day-trip, but this small city is so fascinating you might want to spend a night or two to fully enjoy the experience. Many of these brick buildings date back 400 years to the 17th century when Haarlem was at its peak of prosperity. They were homes and workshops and warehouses of the merchants. Today there are a lot of bars and restaurants and then it becomes a shopping street. And this leads us right into perhaps the most charming street in Haarlem and maybe the cutest lane in the country. Kleine Houstraat. You won't get lost here because it's a small district and the streets are rather straight and run at right angles to each other, but there's plenty here to keep you busy for a full day just wandering around. Walk along some of these connecting streets like Anegan, it's almost like a wide shopping mall that joins up three of the other main shopping streets. You'll find the shoppers and workers are friendly and ready to talk. There is frequent train service every 10 minutes between Haarlem and Amsterdam. However if you come on day trip you're probably not going to be getting to the ends of some of the shopping lanes and into the interesting little back streets or to the museums. If you spend a night or two you'll have plenty of time.

See the EXTREME BEAUTY of THE NETHERLANDS! (in just one day)

18:07
www.adventureViV.com The Netherlands is a BEAUTIFUL country, but instead of reading about it below - just watch the video! We do our best to show you the highlights from our 5+ weeks in "The Low Country". For those of you who want to make this a little more fun, here’s a pop quiz for you: 1) What is adventureViV’s secret tip for Amsterdam? 2) How old was adventureViV when she learned how to ride a bicycle? 3) What is the symbol of the Staverden Estate? 4) Where is the 103 bus going in Madurodam? 5) Which shipping company does the creeper in Rotterdam work for? *Answer in the comments below for a custom adventureViV postcard!* Groningen: Groningen is a charming student city in the Northern Netherlands and the perfect base for visiting the Netherlands’ barrier islands. Schiermonnikoog: Due to the influence of the tides and its location between the Wadden Sea and the North Sea, the island has a climate that is different from that of the mainland. Schiermonnikoog is characterized by diverse landscapes including beaches, dunes, forests, tidal marshes, lakes and tidal flats. Amsterdam: Visit the world-famous 17th century capital of Holland. Go for a boat tour on the canals, and stroll through Vondelpark. Amsterdam’s oldest houses, are a national treasure. Many of these stunning examples of architecture, found around the city’s Canal Ring, date back to the Dutch Golden Age when a building tax was calculated by the width of a property’s façade. Dokkum: You don't even have to close your eyes to feel like you've gone back a few centuries!  Burum: In this tiny town, you will find Windlust, a smock mill which was officially reopened in 2014 on Nationale Molendag - yes, the Dutch celebrate a National Mills Day. Naarden: Naarden is an example of a Spanish star fort, complete with fortified walls and a moat. Staverden: Staverden received its city rights in 1298 from the German King Rudolph but has never really become a true city. Staverden is officially the smallest city in the Netherlands. The Hague: The Hague is the heart of Dutch politics where you will find beautiful museums filled with Dutch masterpieces. Visit the historic Binnenhof, or admire Vermeer's 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' at the Mauritshuis. Our favorites include Mesdag’s Panorama and Escher in het Paleis. Madurodam: Visit Madurodam and discover all of Holland in a few hours. Ever since the opening in 1952 Madurodam has been one of the most iconic places in the Netherlands. Muiderslot: The Muiderslot Castle is one of Holland’s most picturesque medieval castles. Scheveningen: Let’s go to the beach! The Pier is one of the most notable icons in Scheveningen. Nearly 400 metres long and 45 metres high, it runs straight into the North Sea and offers a beautiful view of the village. *Video correction: the sun is setting over the North Sea (not the Atlantic!)* Leiden: Leiden is a picturesque university city with many canals, ‘hofjes’ and museums. Leiden also has its own Hortus Botanicus, an impressive university garden filled with plants from around the world. Rotterdam: Rotterdam is a city of many faces: a tough port city, a trendy modern city, and a hip artistic city. Check out the Maritime Museum when in Rotterdam to learn about Rotterdam’s role as a port city. Don’t miss a walk over the Erasmus Bridge. At its highest point, the Erasmus bridge is 139-meters tall. Known as the 'Erasmusbrug' in Dutch, the bridge has also been lovingly nicknamed The Swan (‘De Zwaan’) by locals due to the distinctive shape of that one, asymmetrical pylon. Zoetermeer: It’s got everything you need! Zoetermeer was our homebase for our entire stay in the Netherlands - thanks to our wonderful hosts! We miss our daily trips to Albert Heijn in the Meerzicht with Miss Moneypenny. We’ll be back soon! NEXT TIME: Catch us chasing summer in Portugal! The Hague, Netherlands, City Tour

29:52
The Hague is the second most-visited city in the Netherlands after Amsterdam because it's a city with many attractions and a large pedestrian zone where you can wander about in old historic lanes. Although Amsterdam is the nation's capital, almost all of the government is headquartered here with the parliament, and the prime minister and perhaps most famous as home of the International Court of Justice, a branch of the United Nations. This video is a practical guide for you showing exactly where are the main sites and where you should be walking to catch all of the highlights in your visit. You might think of the Hague as perhaps a modern city, as a government city and therefore maybe not so interesting to visit, but you'll find that it's fascinating. The Hague has got a rich collection of historic buildings, some of them dating back as much as to the 13th century, amazingly, and they have been restored and renovated and kept up to date. The government is located in this complex of very old buildings in the heart of town. And yet there's also a modern side to the city, a modern shopping mall, ultramodern skyscrapers and that wonderful pedestrian zone. So altogether you'll find The Hague has got a lovely variety of kinds of neighborhoods and attractions, historic sites, shopping areas, museums, and just friendly people everywhere, and everywhere, bicycles. The two closest main cities are Delft and Leiden, both of which make a good home base for visiting The Hague on a day trip, only 15 minutes away by train. http://tourvideos.com/

Day Trip to Volendam, Netherlands

02:50
Volendam, Netherlands a Day Trip 💎Hello Spark Fam! We went on a quick day trip to Volendam, Netherlands. It was ahhmazing to see the engineering by the Dutch in their intricate canal systems and windmills. Has anyone thought of hiring Dutch engineers to help create ways to control flooding in US cities like New Orleans, and Houston? We started our excursion visiting the most cutest harbor that was lined with cute wooden houses along the old Zuiderzee. We also stopped at a historic traditional Dutch windmill for a photo op. And my favorite stop was at the Cheese and Clog shop, where we watched as they made Cheese and Clogs of course! I picked up my customized pair of clogs to use in the garden and cheese to satisfy my cheese addiction. For lunch we had the traditional Raw Herring, Fried Seafood Bento and of course Fries, Dutch style with Mayonnaise! Netherlands Summary Travel Video – Amsterdam, Utrecht, Leiden, Delft, Rotterdam, Haarlem, Holland

08:07
Taking you on a grand journey through the Netherlands, starting with a visit to Haarlem, travelling then down to Leiden, spending three nights in Leiden, doing a few day trips out from there. Then I’ll take you to Delft for three more nights and excursions out from Delft such as to The Hague which is the political capital of the nation. http://tourvideos.com/ And then on to Rotterdam the great modern city of the Netherlands, continuing to Utrecht, a university town with a very large historic center and then down to Maastricht in the southern part of the country. I'll also be going up to the Alkmaar cheese market which is a lot of fun. It happens once a week and it’s a big touristic event. They re-create what it was like in the old days with the cheese market and the guys running around carrying her sleds full of giant Gouda cheeses, but here in the Netherlands they don't say Gouda, it's 'Howda.' I'll take you to that town of Gouda as well and show you where they make the cheese. And then up to Amsterdam for the grand finale. I’m staying two nights or three nights in place, in Amsterdam six nights, so I’ll be providing quite thorough coverage showing you the shopping streets and the museums, the old historic neighborhoods, the old brick buildings and going on some canal boat rides as well – that’s one of the real fun things to do when you’re in the Netherlands. In each of the towns I’ll be walking because these towns are compact and historic and have so many things to see while walking around. And occasionally you can hop on a tram or hop on a bus and that helps you get along. Maybe you want to rent a bicycle. Everybody here is on bicycles. The Netherlands is a land of canals and bicycles and beautifully and preserved old towns such as Delft and Leiden seem like the architecture hasn’t changed in the last 300 years. And it’s really quite a revelation to see how modern everything is at the same time The people of course are highly educated. They have some of the top universities in the world in the Netherlands, and the higher education is all but free for those who are interested. And it’s just a nation of friendly people, smart people, very productive people as well. Fortunately for us, just about all of them speak very good English, so it’s very easy to get by when you are visiting here. I’ll be spending three weeks traveling by train, and the Netherlands has got perhaps the best train system in Europe. Yes maybe even better Switzerland. It’s phenomenal. The trains are clean, fast, frequent. The foods are great. You can have a reasonable lunch for about €12, say the equivalent of no more than $15 – often it’s a good hearty sandwich and a cappuccino or a beer. Of course the Dutch love their beer. And they also drink a lot of wine as well. They don’t produce wine, but being in Europe, in the center of Europe, it is very easy for them to bring in wines from not just France and Italy and Spain but all over the world actually. You see always a good variety on menus, but especially it's the beer. They must have dozens of varieties of beer that are brewed right here in the Netherlands. Now people also call this country Holland and that’s a common mistake actually because Holland is just part of the Netherlands. It's two provinces on the Western side but the country actually the Netherlands. And the people are Dutch, they speak Dutch. It’s a unique language. It’s a separate language but has similarities to German and to Danish. I’m traveling in the in the month of September which is a good time to be here, and I got real lucky with the weather so far, it has been perfect. It’s been let’s say 75°F 20° 22°C, just very comfortable and actually a bit warmer that should be at this time of year and that’s a good thing, sometimes you get lucky. So it’s a real excursion through the Netherlands, not just visiting Amsterdam. Even if you are only going to Amsterdam you should spend 4 to 5 days there so you can do some day trips because the country is pretty small and you can travel all way to the Hague for example by train in about 45 minutes from Amsterdam, so it could be a home base for you. Traveling for three weeks in this wonderful country was a great experience, including all the way down to Maastricht at the southern tip of the Netherlands, and a little side trip over to Aachen in Germany to see the Cathedral dating back to the year 800. You're going to love this upcoming series of movies about the Netherlands. We will focus on Amsterdam, of course. I spent a week in this wonderful city. We will have pictures of the museums, the restaurants, the canals, the streets, the old buildings, Rembrandt's house – and yes it took a lot of walking to get these shots. It was three weeks on foot. The Netherlands presents the visitor with the wonderful variety of sights to see. You're going to love this upcoming series of movies about the Netherlands.

DORDRECHT CITY TRIP - THE OLDEST CITY IN HOLLAND - HISTORIC CENTRE TOURIST TOUR

04:56
Go with us on a city trip to Dordrecht, the oldest city in Holland! Beautiful hisotric buildings, diverse museums, a cosy city centre with numerous canals and old monuments and a great shopping area with lots of nice shops and good restaurants await you. Subscribe to our channel for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqDUoJJBOsjyVamxPJBRjrQ/videos?sub_confirmation=1 The city of Dordrecht, located in the province of South Holland, obtained city rights as early as 1220, making it the oldest city in Holland. Located in a wetland area with such rivers as the Merwede, Noord and Ouwe Maas, it was an important merchant city with a lively trade in wood, cereals and wine. That history, wealth and culture is still clearly visible. Not only does the historic city center of Dordrecht harbor around 1,000 monuments – they are also splendidly used as restaurants, museums and theatres. There is some controversy concerning the etymology of its name, but it essentially means a “thoroughfare.” This is due to the fact that the city is actually on an island and was historically a significant part of the shipping lines in the earliest days of its existence. It is actually bordered by five different rivers and remains a culturally and historically important city. Known by its inhabitants as Dordt, the city was also called Dort by the English who valued it as a trade port. Dordrecht’s rich history is still clearly visible when you walk past the old inner city harbors, monuments and museums of Dordrecht. Absolute must-sees are the Great Church (Grote Kerk), the renowned collection of paintings of the Dordrechts Museum, the gorgeous interior of the old mayor’s house ‘Huis van Gijn’ and the thirteenth-century Augustine monastery ‘Het Hof’. Also highly recommended is the gorgeous view of the rivers’ intersection from the Groothoofd. Dordrecht is best discovered on foot. Today, the city of Dordrecht is the 6th largest seaport in the Netherlands, and is primarily known for shipbuilding and its wood and steel industry. While being the oldest city in Holland, Dordrecht is by no means feeling its age. The city is currently in the process of a huge revitalization project aimed at bringing more business services to the area.

Intriguing and striking city. I covered most part of it with different films, but this one is a longer tour of the city. It just shows you how a random day goes by in Amsterdam. And just watch how smooth things move around the streets.
