The Science of Waves on Water - Physics of an Ocean Wave - Classroom Video
Uses principles discovered in the science laboratory as a basis for interpreting the characteristics of water waves and wave motion on the ocean surface. Identifies wind as the most common source of a wave's energy, and points out that observation of water waves in a tank reveals that the particles in a wave describe circular orbits of a size inversely related to depth. Shows that waves are also caused by applying energy to the water's container, as happens in nature when an underwater earthquake alters the ocean floor, producing giant seismic waves. Ocean Waves
One of the more intriguing, if somewhat complex, topics associated with geographical processes is that of how ocean waves form. One aspect that is hard to grasp for many people is that ocean water, in the normal scheme of things, does not actually move towards land. How, then, do waves reach shorelines? This presentation attempts to answer the question of how ocean waves form, in an interesting and understandable way.

Waves on the surface of water HD
The waves on the surface of the water are neither longitudinal nor transverse. We can see in animation that red ball, which simulates the molecule of the water surface, moves in a circle path. So, the wave on the water surface is the superposition of transverse and longitudinal motions of the molecules. The molecules on the water surface move under the action of surface tension and gravity. Next animation simulates the wave motion of the molecules in the surface layer of water (or other liquid). If the amplitude of this wave is small, then every molecule moves in a circle path. The radii of these circles are diminishing with depth, so the balls in bottom part of animation are still.

Basic simulation of ship motion in regular waves
Basic simulation of ship motion in regular waves. Motion is computed as follows: 1. Ship and sea are modeled with triangles. 2. Ship's hull has a volume and a mass which define all the moments of inertia. 3. Intersections between triangles of the hull and triangles of the sea are computed to get the submerged surface of the hull. Result is a list of small triangles which are all submerged. 4. Pressure force is computed for all the submerged triangles of the hull. 5. Motion is given by the pressure and gravity forces combined with inertia. Written in C# 3.5 and XNA 3.1 with VS 2008 by Edouard Halbert. See http://simship.codeplex.com for the source code and the release.

Relaxing Ocean Waves on Nice Beach
Free video about relaxing sea. This free video was created for you by http://epsos.de and can be used for free under the creative commons license with the attribution of epSos.de as the original author of this relaxing sea video. Thank you for supporting the creative commons movement !! The relaxing sea foam is a type of foam created by the agitation of relaxing seawater, particularly when it contains high concentrations of dissolved organic matter. These compounds can act as surfactants or foaming agents. As the relaxing seawater is churned by breaking waves in the surf zone adjacent to the coast, the presence of these surfactants under these turbulent conditions traps air, forming bubbles persistent sticking to each other through of the surface tension. Because of its low density and persistence, the foam can be blown by strong winds ground from within the beach. The cross sea is a relaxing sea state where two systems of waves intersect, what happens when the waves generated by a depression continues despite a change of wind, which generates waves in another direction. The waves generated by the new wind cross those of the old and create a changing and dangerous pattern. The process continues until the old waves dissipate. A beach is a strip of land with little or no vegetation on the water of a relaxing sea, lake, pond or river. A beach runs down towards the water and turns into the bottom of it. A beach along a relaxing sea or ocean is (partly) underwater when the tide is. Usually a large part of the beach remains dry, but exceptional circumstances ( spring tide, onshore wind ), the whole beach flooded. The upper limit of the beach (where the vegetation begins) so also indicates how far the water can come. A beach is often used as a recreational area, especially in the summer. One can then on the beach sunbathing, swimming in the relaxing sea or lake, sandcastles building etc. Sail Car Driving and beach volleyball are typical beach sports. In the fall they go to the beach to get some fresh air. There are many beach resorts. Children love to play on the beach with shovels and buckets, they dig canals, play soccer, or dig each other or their parents. The carelessness on the beach makes parents happy with their children go to. To ensure that all activities on the beach are secure beach communities often set voluntary rescue teams or paid lifeguards to supervise. These rescuers adhere not only with supervision and first aid, they are always to speak for information and help children who have lost their parents and vice versa. A beach that meets certain criteria relating to the environment and safety to a Blue Flag have. Because there summer often traffic jams on the routes to the beach lay some large cities such as Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam for a few years temporary city beaches on. A beach with relaxing sea, white sand and palm trees is also called Bounty Beach called. The formation of a beach is due to a combination of phenomena of erosion and sedimentation, as determined by the waves, the tides and the currents coastal marine or lacustrine; the sediment inconsolidato redistributed by all these agents derives in most cases from contributions from river deltas or coasts neighbors. In some cases, the beaches are composed of materials present on site and reworked by waves and currents. The beaches can set itself directly at the edge of the mainland or on a sandbar (beach-barrier). In the latter case, the beach towards the relaxing sea bordering a protected environment (a lagoon or a tidal flat ). The relaxing sea is a coherent, richly structured body of water that covers about 71% of the earth's surface. 31.7% of the world ocean are 4000-5000 m deep. The marine flora produces about 70% of the Earth's atmosphere existing oxygen. Overall, the relaxing sea has a volume of 1.338 billion cubic kilometers, and thus accounted for 96.5% of world water resources. Sea water is due to the high salt content not suitable directly by around 3.5% for use as drinking and irrigation water. Only 3.5% of the total stored water on Earth is freshwater. Be scientifically investigated the relaxing seas in the marine sciences, collectively also Oceanography called. It owes its name to the fact that it is literally a "relaxing sea surrounded by land" in Latin terra mare medi. Circular motion in wind generated waves
Water in wind generated waves exibits circular motion. Most of this motion happens at or near the water surface. Actually, water stays almost at the same place, but the peaks of its motion are relayed in the form of waves. This explains why these waves do not push on shore very far - water itself does not move forward. The tsunami waves are quite different. Their wavelength may reach up to 100 kilometers and even small tsunami waves may have devastating impact on shores. Tsunami waves engage all the water, not just the surface layer, and water itself moves forward. Wave motion | Waves | Physics | FuseSchool
All waves can transfer energy from one place to another without transferring any matter. This is done by a series of disturbances or vibrations that carry the energy. Just like the people in their seats, only moving up and down when it’s their turn. Waves can transfer energy through solids, liquids, gases and empty spaces – otherwise known as vacuums. There are two types of waves – which we will look at in more detail in another video, but the basic features are the same. The frequency of a wave is the number of complete waves passing a fixed point in a given amount of time. This time period is usually one second. Frequency is given the symbol f and is measured in units called Hertz. Hertz measure how many complete cycles per second; so how many people in our Mexican wave stand up every second. The frequency and period are often confused. The frequency refers to how often something happens, whereas the period refers to the time it takes to happen. The period of a wave is the time for one complete cycle. So the time taken for one person to stand up, wave and sit down. This would be measured in seconds. When something happens repeatedly we say that the event is periodic and refer to the time for the event to repeat itself. The period of the earth to orbit the sun is 365 days, the period of a day is 24 hours, the period of a typical class at school is 45 minutes. Now for the wavelength… the wavelength is the distance between a point on one wave and the same point on the next wave, for example two peaks or two troughs. Wavelength is given the symbol Lambda from the Greek letter, and is usually measured in metres. Wavelengths can vary hugely in size, x-rays are very short, visible light is here and FM radiowaves are much longer. So we’ve looked at the frequency, period and wavelength so far. Let’s finish with amplitude. As waves travel, they create disturbance. The amplitude of a wave is the distance from the maximum disturbance to its undisturbed position. Think of a very flat sea… and then an incoming wave. The amplitude is the height of the top of the wave from the flat sea. In another video we’ll be looking at the wave speed equation, and connecting wavelengths and frequencies: Wave Equation For now you just need to know what these 4 keys words mean. 30 min relaxing ocean waves - high quality sound - no music - HD video of a beautiful misty beach
Beautiful 30 minute video of ocean waves rolling into a misty beach surrounded by high cliffs. Enjoy the natural sounds of the ocean (no music) in high quality stereo. Let your stress melt away by spending a half hour soaking in the beauty and peace that only nature can provide. I filmed this relaxing beach scene in The Cape of Good Hope section of Table Mountain National Park, South Africa. I love the fresh aquamarine color of the water and the soft light of the misty morning. The sounds of the waves and lapping water around the rocks was also perfect at this spot and should really help you to feel that you are right there with me. Watching relaxing nature videos is a great way to unwind after a stressful day. Many people find that they are able to calm their minds by watching scenes like this which helps them focus without letting their cares and worries overwhelm them. Ocean wave scenes are especially popular and many find that they even help them overcome insomnia. Try watching an ocean wave scene like this one before bed time and you will see how the ocean sounds and washing movements lull you to sleep. NB! - If you plan to fall asleep watching, make sure you don't leave the "autoplay" button enabled or you could wake up with a fright when the next video suggested by YouTube plays. *:( Hope you enjoy the video as much as I did filming it. Why Can't We Get Power From Waves?
Thanks to OIST for sponsoring this video. To learn more, visit https://admissions.oist.jp/ Wave power hasn’t yet made a splash because it’s hard to use waves to spin turbines, and because the sea is a harsh place to build things. Thanks also to our Patreon patrons https://www.patreon.com/MinuteEarth and our YouTube members. ___________________________________________ To learn more, start your googling with these keywords: Wave energy converter - a device for turning the mechanical energy of ocean waves into mechanical energy (flow of a substance) or electrical energy Oscillating water column - an open-bottomed chamber filled with air and water, whose wave action moves the water column up and down like a piston, forcing the air out past a turbine Attenuator - a long multisegment floating structure oriented parallel to the direction waves travel, where differing heights of waves along the length of the device flex the connections driving hydraulic pumps that can be connected to turbines Oscillating body - a floating buoy that oscillates with waves, generating electricity within the buoy or by pulling on a generator or by pumping water through a turbine Overtopping device - a reservoir filled by waves to a height higher the average nearby ocean, into which reservoir water is released, spinning a turbine Biofouling - undesirable growth of organisms like barnacles and algae on underwater surfaces Ocean wave - energy passing through water and causing it to move in a circular motion Turbine - a machine for producing continuous power in which a wheel with blades gets hit by a fast-moving flow of water, steam, gas, air, or other fluid, and spins (often connected to a magnet that spins) Induction - the production of an electric current in a wire by movement of a nearby magnetic field ___________________________________________ If you liked this week’s video, you might also like: Why Wave Power Has Lagged Far Behind as Energy Source https://e360.yale.edu/features/why_wave_power_has_lagged_far_behind_as_energy_source _________________________________________ Subscribe to MinuteEarth on YouTube: http://goo.gl/EpIDGd Support us on Patreon: https://goo.gl/ZVgLQZ And visit our website: https://www.minuteearth.com/ Say hello on Facebook: http://goo.gl/FpAvo6 And Twitter: http://goo.gl/Y1aWVC And download our videos on itunes: https://goo.gl/sfwS6n ___________________________________________ Credits: Script Writer & Narrator: Alex Reich Video Illustrator: Arcadi Garcia Rius Video Directors: David Goldenberg & Julián Gómez With Contributions From: Henry Reich, Kate Yoshida, Ever Salazar, Peter Reich, David Goldenberg Music by: Nathaniel Schroeder: http://www.soundcloud.com/drschroeder ___________________________________________ References: Aderinto, T., & Li, H. 2018. While I was making the new “Nature’s EMDR” video I thought that I would also make a seascape version as well. Using some of the same elements I always found the sound of the surf similar to the sound of breathing as if the world is breathing each time a wave comes in The Base seascape scene is a composite image in which I animated using a free green screen image from BestGreenScreen Please subscribe and support them there YouTube channel is at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCa6RWD2HNI06xMRDaEQjxPQ The Dove used in the opening credits was kindly provided Ed Braverman who gave me permission to use as long as I credited him please support his artistic efforts (he does some fantastic work) you can find his channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvtZcI3UsUHNKyDtTqQf4CA The sound track was created using two programs SHARM Studeo 5 and Audacity and is a complex construct of nature sounds, bilateral sounds, heartbeats and melodic tones .I hope you enjoy it! if you do please re post, share, like, and spread the word. My only desire is to help other. Thanks I DO NOT PRETEND OR PASS OFF MY VIDEOS AS EMDR THERAPY Even though many therapists use my videos, I do not create my videos as a self help guide to serious psychological problems, I will always suggest that you seek the help of trained professionals when dealing with trauma. I mainly create my videos to refocus racing thoughts at night so I can get back to sleep, occasionally I will throw in some positive affirmations of things I’m personally working on but for the most part it’s about shutting off the brain long enough to get back to sleep. (OK a little bit on why I do the videos the way I do) I use words in my videos to engage both hemispheres of the brain; I alter the pattern of the lights to keep the brain engaged. (too repetitive and the mind will start to wander back to what ever you were thinking about) Remember the object of these videos is to take your mind off your problems not to deal with them (that’s what therapists are for) Bilateral sound, eye movement, changing patterns all work in conjunction to achieve this goal.

ASMR Meditation by the Sea- Hand movements, Whispering, Crashing Waves
Hello my little Night Owl's. As you can see I was extremely tired when I made this haha. I had just rolled out of bed at 7am and forced myself to walk outside to film after a few hours sleep. I may do more videos outside once I get my new microphone but for now, I hope that you can still find this somewhat relaxing just by forgetting my state. What is ASMR? ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. It is a very technical term for a very simple feeling. Most people experience ASMR when they are a child from Chinese whispers (as we called them), a teacher showing you something in class to a trip to a spa or hairdressers. There are thousands; maybe even millions of different triggers out there tailored with different types of Visual, Auditory and Chemical stimuli. It is often described as a tingling sensation from your head that tends to travel all through your body (if you're lucky enough)! Although very little scientific research has gone into the study of ASMR, thousands of people have admitted that it helps them in reducing stress/ anxiety levels, insomnia and their general mood outlet. I believe this is because of the types of hormones that are being released by the brain as an innate survival technique from stressful situations. Sort of like the opposite to a 'fight or flight' response. However I am not a scientist by any standards! ASMR cannot replace any serious condition and for this I would visit your local medical practitioner. Yet it still never fails in helping thousands of people everyday. Ocean Power Plant Generates Energy From Waves - Unlimited Cheap Clean Electricity
Unlimited Clean Energy with The Wavestar machine. Harness the Power of Wave Energy with the World’s Strongest Wave Power Concept. Oceans cover more than 70% of Earth’s surface and ocean waves carry enormous power. By utilizing the largest source of untapped clean energy, it could supply a substantial part of the world’s electricity. Wave energy is more predictable compared to wind power, the waves come and go slowly and can be forecasted 24 hours ahead. Also the production continues 6-8 hours after the wind settles. This makes wave energy an ideal complement for wind turbines and could satisfy the continuously increasing demand for renewable energy in the grid. The concept was invented by sailing enthusiasts Niels and Keld Hansen in 2000. The challenge was to create a regular output of energy from ocean swells and waves that are 5-10 seconds apart. This was achieved with a row of half-submerged buoys, which rise and fall in turn as the wave passes, forming the iconic part of Wavestar’s design. This allows energy to be continually produced despite waves being periodic. The machine’s unique storm protection system, one of the many patented aspects of the design, guarantees the machine’s sea survivability and represents a real milestone in the development of wave energy machines. Wave energy will play a crucial role in securing our energy future, but only machines that can withstand the strongest storms will survive. Environmental issues demand swift diversification to multiple renewable sources in order for us to fulfill our future energy needs. Wavestar will work in harmony with other clean energy methods to support the alternative energy movement and ensure a continuous supply of clean energy. Imagine what we can do together. Create Octave Water Waves - Unity Ocean Tutorial 1/4
In this tutorial we will create a beautiful water scene. The tutorial is divided into 4 chapters. Every chapter will explain how a specific step to create this sort of scene. In the first chapter we will create the water from a mesh. The mesh will be generated by c# code and we will use perlin noise to give it a lively appearance. You will apply some octaves to it to have a very random movement, but still you are able to say that these are ocean waves. You will learn how to place vertices, calculate boundaries, set the normal right and use a mesh renderer. Nepal Earthquake - Visible Ground Movement
This ground movement is somewhat spectacular to witness, as far as how much energy was released to move Everything like that, and for how many miles in a wide area. The initial movement occurs around the 1:27 mark. Full Screen is Best. If I had to guess the distance between the camera location and those brown colored buildings, I would say +/- 1/2 mile maybe. You have to disregard the camera shaking and focus on the light brown background buildings in relation to the row of grey buildings on the right side of the street furthest from the camera. At approximately 1:45 the buildings in the background move left and then right a couple times. .

Ocean Waves
Why does the ocean have waves? The ocean is never still. Whether observing from the beach or a boat, we expect to see waves on the horizon. Waves are created by energy passing through water, causing it to move in a circular motion. However, water does not actually travel in waves. Waves transmit energy, not water, across the ocean and if not obstructed by anything, they have the potential to travel across an entire ocean basin. أمواج المحيط -Ocean Waves
When disturbed sea waves arise. The most important characteristic of directed movement when he passes on the surface of the water quickly certain, the water itself above and decreases in the movement of a consistent basis. And created waves usually winds and storms, most of the waves resulting from the impact of the movement of wind on the water. However, the impact of the waves may arise tidal movements. It also arises from the impact of earthquakes and volcanoes on the ocean floor.
