Fly Fishing - Fly Casting for Brown Trout, Bull Trout and Steelhead - by Todd Moen

Greetings, Catch Magazine followers! Click link to Subscribe to the Catch Magazine YouTube Channel ►http://goo.gl/9Z5dTu As the New Year approaches, I’m reflecting on Catch Magazine’s 10 years of fly fishing videos. It’s overwhelming! Catch Magazine's online publication https://www.CatchMagazine.net is packed with more than 60 Fly Fishing T-Motion films that bring you around the world with me. Often the films from Catch make it here to my YouTube Channel for all of you to experience my fly fishing adventures and meet world-class anglers. As a little gift to you this holiday season, I’ve packaged a sweet trio filmed and edited almost 7 years ago. These 3 short videos that have been pulled from the vault feature 3 different anglers, on 3 different rivers fishing for 3 kinds of fish. First, watch adventurous angler Brian O’Keefe as he wades a high desert river in Oregon to catch brown trout. Then see Carrie Collingwood, of Spatsizi Wilderness Lodge http://www.Spatsizi.com in British Columbia, as she travels via boat to a high mountain lake tributary to land bull trout on the fly. Finally, take in the coastal fly fishing phenomenon Jakob Lund as he swings for steelhead a stone's throw from the Pacific Ocean. These last two videos are extra special, and almost vintage in their method. They were filmed in 2012, before lightweight commercial drones were available or in wide public use. I filmed Jakob and Carrie using two different home-designed copters (weighing more than 6 pounds each, with 4 and 6 blades lifting a combination of large Panasonic handy-cams and GoPros mounted to a homemade servo-driven carbon fiber gimbal) to capture some of the first “drone” footage the fishing industry had ever seen. To this day these quick seconds of footage have never been seen by anyone. Drones and cameras have massively evolved since 2012. I consider this my vintage aerial work. Happy Holidays! I hope you enjoy these 3 special films! Special thanks to R.L. HATCH - BIG SKY PMDs - Montana Fly Fishing by Todd Moen

08:53
Each July, I find myself heading back to my home state of Montana. Over the past 15 years, many of these trips have included an adventure with my good friend and master spring creek angler, Pete Corbett who is owner of Creekside Angling Company in Issaquah, Washington. We like to fish the Southwest region of the state. For this 2013 fly fishing trip, we met in Dillon, Montana. This time Pete fished some of our favorite public water, and we hit the PMD hatch that usually occurs in late June and early July. We were in the right place at the right time! The PMDs popped, coming off in thick numbers, with fish hungry and aggressively rising to chow down on the first big hatch of the summer. The second half of this video shoot was taken on a one-day walk/wade of McCoy's Spring Creek, and we had some pretty good action there as well. Southwest Montana never lets me down! Amazon Peacock Bass - Jungle Fly Fishing by Todd Moen

10:15
Click link to Subscribe to the Catch Magazine YouTube Channel ►http://goo.gl/9Z5dTu The filming of Rio de Gigantes and the search for Amazon’s giant peacock bass took Todd Moen to Rio Negro Basin’s Rio Marié in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest. Rio Marié is the first river in the Amazon Basin where the Brazilian Government collaborated with local Native Communities (the Baré and Tukano tribes) and Untamed Angling to develop a project protecting the 800 km wildlife preserve, while promoting catch-and-release fly fishing only. This protected area is more than 400 miles of virgin waters full of giant peacock bass. Rio Marié is known to hold at least twice the quantity of trophy-sized peacock bass compared with any other sport fishing destination in the Rio Negro basin. For anglers, this means very real opportunities to hook and release larger-than-average peacocks on the fly. For Todd Moen, this means an unbelievable opportunity to film epic-sized peacock bass in the jungle. Moen was treated to an incredible stay on Untamed Angling’s floating mothership, which strategically placed him in prime fishing locations. Together with angler Brian O’Keefe, Moen met up with Rodrigo Salles who introduced them to the tribes living on Rio Marié. There Moen met Charlie, Untamed Angling’s first native guide. Charlie guided them through the jungle, showing them the traditional method for catching peacock bass on the fly. It was not easy! With golf ball-sized bumblebees swarming their hats, and piranhas chasing their flies... all in 100 degree heat and 90% humidity…Moen succeeded in capturing the adventure, history and true quest of fly fishing in the Amazon Rainforest. Moen was particularly challenged by the humidity and heat, which threatened to ruin any chances with a drone at all. Thanks to Untamed Angling & The Fly Shop for setting up this amazing adventure. Special thanks to the mothership crew and guides, and angler extraordinaire Brian O’Keefe, for making this video possible. Bass, Carp & Trout Fishing - Airstreamer by Todd Moen

11:24
Hello friends! Five years ago today, included in issue #29 of Catch Magazine was a film I created called Airstreamer. I've pulled Airstreamer from the vault for the public to enjoy, hope you get a kick out of it. May 24th, 2013 - Before the desert sun broils the land and lizards carry canteens, my wingman Brian O’Keefe and I met up for a late spring bike tour to some very remote trout and bass water. Home base was a 60 year old Airstream travel trailer, strategically located in the middle of nowhere, but fairly close to some badlands bass water and sagebrush trout streams. Streamers were getting action in the pocket water and scummy sloughs. Poppers were the ticket for bass. Thanks to some gourmet peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and Chips Ahoy cookies, we survived the harsh landscape and had a great time making AIRSTREAMER. SUBSCRiBE & “Ring the Bell" ► http://goo.gl/9Z5dTu Special thanks to my supporters of this type of art and entertainment. Fly Fishing Bahamas - Women in Fly Fishing by Todd Moen

06:33
SUBSCRiBE & “Ring the Bell" ► http://goo.gl/9Z5dTu "Wade Andros" was filmed in 2011 when I traveled to Andros Island with my wife, Kelley, for work. But it was also a chance to introduce her to the saltwater flats of this beautiful country. This was Kelley's first time fly fishing for bonefish and any type of saltwater species. Wade Andros was shot in the Bahamas at Andros South Lodge. All the things a camera operator hopes for came together: constant beautiful white sand flats against a pallet of blue sky, teal ocean water, bright sun for spotting fish, abundant schools of bonefish and Kelley as the angler on film. Excited to be there together, we had not traveled on a work trip together in 6 years...back when we were childless fishing bums in New Zealand. For her, catching a five-pound bonefish might actually rival the break she would have from our small kids at home at the time. Kelley quickly became friends with Kadegia Long, a local Bahamian, and my T-Motion film fell into place. Wade Andros captures the beauty of the Bahamian bonefishing experience as a great day with two woman, as angler and guide, searching and wading the flats. Thanks to the fantastic guides and the lodge staff at Andros South Lodge for making it possible. Thanks to everyone who has supported my work along the way. This was shot almost 8 years ago and is still one of the best experiences I've had on the water. Tasmania, Australia Fly Fishing by Todd Moen

Happy Australia Day to all my Catch Magazine YouTube subscribers! Click Here To Subscribe If you haven't already!►http://goo.gl/9Z5dTu Here is the full version of the Tasmania film I created which was featured in the February 2017 edition of Catch Magazine. For this project I filmed on the Twigwaters and high plateau lakes of the amazing Australian island of Tasmania. Flown Under Down Under by Tourism Australia, I met up with Daniel and Simone Hackett of RiverFly 1864. RiverFly 1864 recently won the 2017 Gold Medal from the Australian Tourism Awards. I filmed Simone and Daniel stalking small creeks, or Twigwaters, of the north-east streams in search of small, gorgeous brown trout who live in a playground environment. In the second segment of the tour, Daniel and I hiked into the Northern Lakes region inside the Tasmanian World Heritage Area near the Walls of Jerusalem National Park. Our basecamp was private RiverFly 1864 huts. I was able to capture some truly interesting animals on film, including the spiny little echidna, the famous jack jumper ants, wallabies and the venomous copperhead and tiger snakes. Tasmania is a magical place, and for a camera operator it's an exciting landscape to film and a place I’d like to return to with my family someday. Special thanks to Eddie Bauer & Bauer Fly Reels for promoting Catch Magazine. Also many thanks to Tourism Australia, Daniel and Simone Hackett of RiverFly 1864 and Karen and Josh De Groot for their generous hospitality and new friendship. Finally, I'd like to recognize and appreciate Trevor Green Music accompanying this video, which include guitar, didgeridoo and percussion instruments in songs from 'Sacred Seed' and his newest album 'Voice of the Wind. Fly Fishing for Cutthroat Trout by Todd Moen

Enjoy Rushing Waters- Fly Fishing for Cutthroat Trout! Click to Subscribe! http://goo.gl/9Z5dTu There is a wilderness river in the Pacific Northwest that starts in the highest glaciers and flows through tall, uncut timber. The headwaters are rough and tumble with huge boulders with miles of non-stop whitewater. Over five years ago this fly fishing video was featured in Catch Magazine. We explored and fished the middle and lower river where serene, aqua blue pools and riffles held two species of spawning salmon and rainbow and cutthroat trout that were eager to take our dry flies. Access to the river is accomplished by hiking through the mountains, or a 55 mile boat ride, or by using the primitive grass airstrip. There is one guide who works here. His name is John Wilsey. John was very helpful with our logistics and angling success. John can be reached at [email protected] This was the first few years of aerial video for me so it's very exciting to see how much the quality of the footage has changed since then. SUBSCRiBE & “Ring the Bell" ► http://goo.gl/9Z5dTu This Catch Magazine production features Heather Hodson as she wades her favorite home waters in search of cutthroat trout and solitude. My day filming with Heather took us along some beautiful stretches of water during perfect summer conditions. Insect hatches, clear skies and warm temps made this an enjoyable and ideal filming adventure. Heather founded an interactive community based website for anglers called United Women on the Fly in 2016. “I’ve been fly fishing since 2008 and am by no means an expert. But I am very passionate about the sport and want to share that with other women,” Heather says. Heather currently holds the position of Western US Women’s/Diversity Ambassador for Trout Unlimited. Carp fishing with dry flies! Fly Fishing by Todd Moen

09:01
SUBSCRiBE & “Ring the Bell" ►http://goo.gl/9Z5dTu Summer temps hovering in the upper 90’s. Rising carp. The Missouri River. Dry fly fishing. Montana’s magnificent Big Sky. Put these together, and T-Motion Theater had an unlikely, yet absolutely remarkable fly fishing video opportunity. Carp, unlike trout or steelhead or bonefish or any for that matter, feed in a frenzy known to some anglers as the “Hour of Power”. This is when schools of carp rise to the surface in fierce unison, their big mouths breaking the surface and “hoovering” up bugs in a linear path on the top of the frothy, shallow water. Montana native, fly fishing guide extraordinaire and longtime Gallatin Gateway friend of mine, Brian Kimmel of Shadow of a Trout Outfitters, told me that the next T-Motion film MUST be on Montana carp. I had no idea what I was in for. I packed up my gear into a boat driven by Adipose Boatworks founder and co-owner, Tracy Allen. Tracy quickly jetted Brian into the action of carp on the Missouri River near Helena, Montana. This film immediately became “Carpology,” as Brian revealed his extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for these giant, heat loving, bottom dwelling, big-bellied fish. With topwater action, hard fights, explosive runs, breathtaking scenery and excellent angling, Carpology-PART ONE will leave you waiting anxiously for PART TWO! Thanks to Kimmel and Allen. Enjoy! Fly Fishing England - Buckingham Trout by Todd Moen

When I was invited by Tim Rajeff, of Rajeff Sports, to film on England’s River Esk and the historic chalk stream, River Avon, I could not resist. This is the birthplace of dry fly fishing, an area of rich traditions and history, from the sword to the modern fly rod. On this trip, I met up with Tim's colleagues from Airflo, spey casters Richard Wothers and Gareth Jones. Fishing in the shadow of castles and in brilliant green pastures, these anglers stalk and catch grayling, rainbow and brown trout, all feasting on mayflies. This film highlights the history and sacred rules of England’s famous dry fly fishing heritage. Thanks to Airflo, Patagonia and Rajeff Sports for making this film happen. It was, for me, a religious experience and one I'll never forget. -------- Pulled from the Catch Magazine Vault - Shot and edited December 2012 for Catch Magazine. Camera and Edit by Todd Moen. My good friend and world-class caster Tim Rajeff, of Rajeff Sports, and our Argentinian guide Óscar Dono, of Fly Fishing Patagonia, fished for rainbow trout and brown trout in some of South America's most incredible crystal clear waters. Fortunately, we caught a day with low winds. The usual Patagonian winds can sometimes add a complicated rush: flying my copter above a river flowing at 14,000 CFS is ten times more difficult with wind. We got a lucky break! Argentina truly has some of the most spectacular trout fishing in the world. An awesome angler fishing in an awesome environment always yields a fun and entertaining experience, even for the cameraman! Fly Fishing Film - Spring Creek by Todd Moen

Click Here To Subscribe ►http://goo.gl/9Z5dTu - Fly Fishing - Normally I wouldn't find myself doing much traveling to film fish during the hot summer months, especially in August. But the summer of 2015 I made some plans to go find cooler water. I was invited back to one of my favorite places on earth, to meet a couple of friends capturing the hopper hatch together in full swing. The smoke was thick from summer wildfires in the Rockies, and the conditions were tough to film in. But the fish were ready and eager to take a fly each time I set up my position with the camera, and the anglers were successful most every cast. Spring creeks are an angler’s (and camera operator’s) dream… if you have the patience. These two friends had a blast fishing the Spring Creek magic. It was certainly one of the highlights of my summer! When life offers you the chance to go outside, have some fun and enjoy the river with a friend, you better do it! I was lucky enough to capture it on film. Hope you enjoy this fun, fly fishing adventure! Special thanks to these companies in our small industry who help make this type of work a reality. Olympic Peninsula Steelhead - Winter Fly Fishing by Todd Moen

Click Here To Subscribe to the Catch Magazine YouTube Channel ►http://goo.gl/9Z5dTu - Fly fishing for the mighty steelhead is not always pretty, and this issue’s T-Motion theater illustrates the very real deal in the search for Pacific Northwest steelies. The weather during this early spring shoot was as usual; rain, rain and more rain. The rivers rose fast, cleared out, and rose again with each new rain storm. My friend and angler on film, Jack Mitchell, has lived in the Pacific Northwest his entire life and has been guiding and chasing steelhead for most of his years. Despite his expertise, the very real deal of fly fishing for steelhead means that there are no guarantees. It took us many attempts, many hours on the river, and many conversations. Finally we landed a steelhead, but it was what Jack calls “arduous patience” that made it all happen. As in every video shoot, I appreciate the cooperation and joviality of my anglers. Jack is as jovial as they come. What an adventure! Thanks to Jack Mitchell of The Steelhead Ranch http://theeveninghatch.com, and to Eddie Bauer for their generous support. River of Life by Todd Moen - Women In Fly Fishing

18:14
For the 50th edition of Catch Magazine, T-Motion Theater presents a very special film called “River of Life.” In 2015/16 Todd Moen captures the reflections of 3 women dealing with breast cancer while out fly fishing on the waters of the Pacific Northwest. The narratives of Barbara Schmierer, Trisha Campbell and Carol LaBranche connect the struggles of wild, native fish with the challenges these women face in their own lives, while also capturing the magic and joy of fly fishing. The film explores life’s tenacity and its fragility. “River of Life” reflects ideas and feelings that most fly fishermen share, yet from a uniquely feminine perspective.  Breast cancer is, for the most part, a feminine struggle. But when 1 in 8 women in the United States are afflicted, it touches everyone’s lives.  This film connects our human stories with the life and health of rivers, and it reminds us of what is beautiful in the world and how easily it can be lost. River of Life is dedicated to Carol LaBranche, aged 56, who battled with cancer and passed away October 8, 2016 before the film was finished. After her first bout with breast cancer, Carol decided to take on a new hobby…fly fishing. This grew to be one of her life's passions. This also led to the role of secretary with the Oregon Council of Federation of Fly Fishers. She was an instrumental part of getting Umpqua Valley Fly Fishers started in Roseburg, Oregon. Casting for Recovery was the next step in that fly fishing process. Her desire to help others and give back led to starting a retreat in Oregon for women with breast cancer. https://uvfforg.wordpress.com/ https://www.flyfishersinternational.org/Default.aspx https://castingforrecovery.org/ Filmed in three different locations, A big thank you to Kelsey Helfrich - http://www.helfrichoutfitter.com Chris Daughters - https://www.caddisflyshop.com Jennifer Mitchell - http://theeveninghatch.com Special thanks to these individuals & companies who supported our project... Fly Fishing New Zealand - Pure New Zealand by Todd Moen

18:32
Click Here To Subscribe ►http://goo.gl/9Z5dTu Issue #40 brings Catch viewers back to one of my most favorite places on earth, New Zealand. This time I flew to the South Island’s Cedar Lodge to film its owner Chris Daughters on his favorite South Island rivers. The lodge is located on the Makarora River, just about an hour’s drive north of the adventurist town of Wanaka. New Zealand is particularly special to me, as I first traveled to the country nearly 15 years ago in search of the hidden streams and huge trout known to live there. Then, my wife and I brought only a small camera, backpacks, a tent and fly rods. This time, I returned alone with my camera gear, multi-rotor aerial equipment, an outlandish number of batteries and one rod (packed with a glimmer of hope that I’d have a minute to fish instead of film.) My purpose was to capture a day in the life of Cedar Lodge’s owner Chris Daughters, a U.S. citizen who resides in New Zealand part-time with his wife and two young children. Thanks to the phenomenal helicopter pilot, Dion Matheson, we flew over rocky peaks and into broad river valleys. We landed in remote and trout-packed pools, within reach of giant feeding rainbows and browns. Thanks to Chris, his wife Shauna, pilot Dion and the folks at Cedar Lodge for getting me and my camera to the hot spots. New Zealand has been, and remains to be, my favorite fly fishing destination on Earth. It’s also my favorite place to film, of course! Sit back, relax…take notes if you must….and enjoy the special double-feature length film “Pure New Zealand.” More info about Cedar Lodge here - http://www.cedarlodge.net Special thanks to these companies in our small industry who help make this type of work a reality. Indiana Bones *TRAILER* - Bahamas Fly Fishing by Todd Moen

04:37
Click link to Subscribe to the Catch Magazine YouTube Channel ►http://goo.gl/9Z5dTu The inspiration for my T-Motion video, Bahamian “Indiana Bones”, materialized inland and at home in Central Oregon. My 10-year old son, who also happens to be my favorite fly fishing buddy on earth, suggested that angler Brian O’Keefe resembled Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Paddling the flats atop his SUP board, Brian navigated the bonefish waters armed with rods and sporting a wild west hat even Indiana himself would likely snag. From my son’s perspective, this Bahamian adventure is Harrison Ford’s next destination. Eleven Experience’s mothership is situated off the west side of South Andros Island, and it is the home base for out-and-back travel for bonefish and many other types of aggressive fish hitting topwater poppers. My drone footage reveals the Bahamas’ vast water wilderness, an expansive territory teaming with life in the flatwater paradise. Guides Ornald “Shine” Greene, Dencil Moxey and Elvis Strachen, who are native Bahamians, led us to large white sand flats where Brian caught many different types of hard-fighting fish. With the right soundtrack, and enough shark action to keep even the best rough rider on his toes, “Indiana Bones” takes you on an angling crusade you won’t forget. Thank you to Eleven Experience for inviting me down to film this great place on the water and to see the best beat an angler could ever hope for. Enjoy the trailer! Barrancoso River Argentina Fly Fishing by Todd Moen

11:10
Although it's not my first video of southern Argentina's crazy wind, huge trout and amazing scenery, "Barrancoso River" is probably both the most fun and the most challenging video I've ever shot for Catch Magazine. It was fun! This is thanks to Tim Rajeff and Katherine Hart, of Rajeff Sports, who are nothing less than rocks stars and fabulous anglers. They make it happen in hurricane-like winds and impossible fishing conditions. And they make it fun. There is no other couple I'd rather film, travel with and work with than these two fine folks. It was challenging also. The winds, the unpredictable weather and the crazy moon rock landscape of this area tested every aspect of my ability as a camera operator and aerial photographer. While the weather was extreme, the huge fish that chased our mouse patterns and bomber flies were also extreme. Thanks to the great crew at Laguna Verde Lodge for getting us to the places with fish and for making the impossible a possibility. Karim Jador is one of the many guides to thank. Like always, I am so thankful for the folks who can get me and my camera gear to the fish. But my biggest gratitude goes to those beautiful, double-digit sized trout that live and survive there long enough for me to film them. Filmed November 2013 - Camera and Edit by Todd Moen. Fly Fishing the Columbia River by Todd Moen

12:08
During the fall of 2016 I was thrilled to introduce my friends from Eddie Bauer to the crew at The Evening Hatch’s Black Bear Lodge on the Upper Columbia River in Washington State. Lel Tone, world-class Ski guide for Eddie Bauer, and Andrew Bennett, Eddie Bauer Sport Shop Guide came along with me to this amazing spot on the Columbia River just south of British Columbia. I chose this location because I had never experienced the Columbia River in the fall, when the flows are almost half the level they run during the springtime. As a camera operator, having the option to get out of the boat is crucial when trying to tell a story through film. The flows of the Columbia River at this of year make it a great option for shooting video. Lel put on a fish slaying clinic the first 30 minutes on the water, catching some of the most beautiful rainbow trout the area supports. Andrew had a good go, as well, and we ended up with some great video. Thanks to Smith Optics, R.L. Winston Fly Rods and Eddie Bauer for the great support with this film. With more than 663,268 square miles of land, water and wildlife to its name, the state of Alaska has always been a magnetic draw for me and my camera. This August, Aniak River Lodge https://www.aniakriverlodge.com hosted me on one of Alaska’s most productive and wild salmon rivers. The Aniak River is a 95-mile tributary of the Kuskokwim River draining the Kilbuck and Kuskokwim mountains and the wild Alaskan tundra. It’s full of rainbows, dollies, grayling, sheefish, northern pike and all five species of salmon. This T-Motion video is a mouse skating adventure. Brian O’Keefe pulled mice on the upper reaches and tributaries of the Aniak, with large, heavy-shouldered leopard rainbow trout attacking the Mr. Hankey mouse pattern. FALL RUN by Todd Moen - Steelhead Fly Fishing

14:31
"Fall Run" is the ultimate Pacific Northwest steelhead fly fishing adventure. This is the true story every angler dreams about retelling around the campfire forever. Hooking and landing a steelhead on a fly is not easy. It is arguably the most difficult type of fly fishing in the world. Add the challenges of Mother Nature's moods, an unpredictable wild creature and one single, split-moment chance to capture it all on film........and you've got a recipe for a movie house flop. But against all possible odds, luck lands on the right side for the filming of this high-action angling adventure. Six years after filming Catch Magazine's premier issue T-Motion production, anglers Jeff Hickman and Jakob Lund meet up for another steelhead quest on camera with Todd Moen. Moen captures a film of fellowship and fish on unknown Pacific Northwest water in a truly spectacular story. Yet the story of "Fall Run" depends on the most impressive of adventures ever known. It belongs to the brave steelhead himself. He makes his way, half-way across the world with predators on his tail, safely to swim up this tiny inland river where he meets, in a brief encounter, two ecstatic anglers and a very patient camera lens. One spectacular adventure always leads to another...and this is it. Thanks for all the support from all my YouTube subscribers! WINTER RUN by Todd Moen - Pacific Northwest Winter Steelhead Fly Fishing

09:32
Click Here To Subscribe ►http://goo.gl/9Z5dTu Fishing for winter steelhead is best described by Bill McMillan, fisherman and author of "Dry Line Steelhead" describes winter as being the most difficult of seasons for searching of steelhead on the fly. The mere challenge of nature's moody elements, the cold weather as snow and rain, and the limited daylight draws only those anglers who are seeking to experience something beyond the mere fishing itself, even beyond the hooking of the magnificent fish.  Winter steelhead evoke a sort of reverence because, in short, they are extremely hard to come by.  All the elements surrounding the steelhead become even more epic when placed in the severity of winter. Therefore, the preparation, the adventure from sunup to sundown and the struggle of the search for this evocative strain of steelhead in winter conditions is what I tried to capture in this T-Motion Theater "Winter Run". Thanks to Jakob Lund & Jeff Hickman, author Bill McMillan, Patagonia and Old Man Winter himself for making this adventure a possibility for us all. SPRING RUN by Todd Moen - Steelhead Fishing

11:50
Todd Moen's "Run" series is the most amazing compilation of steelhead fly fishing short films ever made. Spring Run, the third in the series, is the most engaging of the series yet. The set for the remote river float trip adventure is a gorgeous coastal rain forest setting, bright green moss, towering spruce trees, blooming flowers emerging into a gorgeous estuary and beach. This video does a great job of capturing the spirit and essence of why we fly fish for steelhead. The stunning shots make you feel as though you are there in the rain, standing waist deep in the cold Spring river. Complete with an amazing, action packed segment of feisty, chrome-bright, fresh from the salt steelhead. This is as close as you can get to really getting out there and working hard for these magnificent and elusive wild fish. Camera and Edit by Todd Moen. Río Grande Argentina Fly Fishing *TRAILER* by Todd Moen

01:32
SUBSCRiBE & “Ring the Bell" ►http://goo.gl/9Z5dTu This is a TRAILER to the new film Río Grande included in the 57th edition of Catch Magazine. See the full feature at www.CatchMagazine.net. The Río Grande is renown for its massive populations of very big sea-run brown trout. In fact, some consider it to be the world’s best sea run brown trout fishery on earth. This year, The Fly Shop invited me to film Scottish angler Gordon Armstrong as he fished the Argentinian stretch of the Rio Grande at the Estancia Maria Behety Lodge. Though most of the Rio Grande is on the Chilean side, more than 80% of the prime spawning habitat, and the “best fishing” is on the Argentina portion. 32 miles of river frontage, with alternating use of nearly 50 km of more than 100 pools and a fish run population that exceeds 70,000 every season…yes, please and thank you! The Tierra del Fuego summer season is short, dry and relatively cool. But the wind is what sets it apart from most every other fishing mecca. To film in the wind, I really needed to resign to the fact that every shot would be difficult. I ended up getting lucky and was able to fly my copter for some good aerials of this vast, open landscape. Thanks to fly fishing guide Nahuel Stauch for his awesome work with the audio and for his guiding expertise on the Rio Grande. Also thanks to Scottish angler Gordon Armstrong for making it look so easy on film. For more information on Estancia Maria Behety Lodge, see The Fly Shop for your next angling adventure. Thanks Scientific Anglers for provided the new spey kits that now have the nickname “SA Multitool” on the Rio Grande.  Thanks also to Bauer Fly Reels and Eddie Bauer for their continuous and generous support of T-Motion Theater.  To book your own Río Grande adventure contact The Fly Shop at email - [email protected] The Fly Shop - http://www.TheFlyShop.com Estancia Maria Behety - http://www.MariaBehetyFishing.com RL Winston Rod Company - https://www.WinstonRods.com Eddie Bauer - http://www.EddieBauer.com Scientific Anglers - https://www.scientificanglers.com *Camera Information* - Panasonic AG-UX180 - Copters powered by Venom - http://www.venompower.com - High quality aerial filter and adapters solutions here - Polar Pro Filer Solutions https://www.PolarProFilters.com - DJI Phantom 4 Pro +

Jungle Fly Fishing *TRAILER* Peacock Bass Fishing by Todd Moen

02:51
This is a TRAILER to the new film Rio de Gigantes in Catch Magazine. The FULL feature can be viewed at http://www.CatchMagazine.net. The filming of Rio de Gigantes and the search for Amazon’s giant peacock bass took Todd Moen to Rio Negro Basin’s Rio Marié in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest. For info about booking this unreal chance of a lifetime please contact The Fly Shop. Thanks to the great people of RL Winston Rod Company and Eddie Bauer for the support.
