15 MOST Luxurious Fashion Brands

11:15
From Oscar de la Renta to Chanel, here are some of the most lavish and prestigious fashion brands. Subscribe to Hindered Thoughts http://goo.gl/d3U3RP 6. Chanel The high fashion wear company was introduced to the world back in 1909 by none other than Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, otherwise known as “Coco Chanel.” This is where the brand gets its inspiration for the famously recognizable logo that is two interlocking C’s. The company specializes in creating haute couture for its wealthy clients but also for fashion models like Naomi Campbell, who once modeled for them, and actresses Marilyn Monroe, Keira Knightley, and Nicole Kidman. One of their most famous products is the perfume No. 5 de Chanel, along with the Chanel Suit. Today, Chanel is valued at being $6.8 billion dollars. An interesting fact to note is that Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director behind Fendi, happens to be the creative director for Chanel as well. 5. Prada Founded back in 1913 by Mario Prada, this fashion brand actually started out by manufacturing leather bags and trunks. It would then evolve into selling everything from clothing to perfume and even a brief stint of LG Prada cell phones. Though the brand may have broadened its inventory, it still spends the majority of its focus creating some of the world’s most exclusive handbags that only the rich and famous can possibly hope to afford. Mario Prada believed that women should not be involved in business so he excluded his own family members from getting involved. In a fantastic twist of irony, his son did not care to run the business so his daughter Luisa Prada took over as his successor and is now currently being run by her daughter Miuccia. 4. House of Versace The fashion empire that is the House of Versace all started with fashion designer Gianni Versace back in 1978. He created a brand that has been synonymous with elegance and simply oozes high fashion. His glamorous gowns have gone on to make a name for himself as a respected designer. Like the case of the famous black dress held with gold safety pins that actress Elizabeth Hurley wore back in 1994 to the premiere of Four Weddings and A Funeral. Sadly, Versace’s life was cut short in 1997 on the steps of his Miami mansion when he became the fifth and final victim of Andrew Cunanan. The tragic event will be the story behind American Crime Story’s season 2 titled: The Assassination of Gianni Versace. After his death, his sister Donatella became the new Artistic Director and has established a $5.5 billion company her brother would be proud of. 3. Gucci Started in 1921 by a Mr. Guccio Gucci, the company was originally dabbing in leather goods. It wasn’t until 19 years later when his son Aldo would take the company from being a one-stop shop into the fashion powerhouse that it’s now known for being. It’s Aldo that would usher in the era of the brand’s iconic “Bamboo Bag” and its “ready to wear segments.” In the 90’s, the company decided to bring American Fashion designer Tom Ford to revamp their women’s wear. He ended up helping launch the brand to where it is today. The fashion brand houses other well-known designers in its collections such as Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, and Yves Saint Laurent. If you’re in the market to do some shopping at this $12.4 billion brand, expect to spend at least $2,000. 2. Louis Vuitton This may come as a shock but the famous fashion brand has been around longer than you might have thought. Formed 163 years ago in 1854, a young man by the name of Louis Vuitton started out as an apprentice for a box-maker. Vuitton ended up becoming a well-known crafter of luxury trunks and opened up his own shop in Paris. He then ended up becoming the personal box-maker of Napoleon III’s wife, Empress Eugenie de Montijo. Fast forward years later and the company is now worth $28.1 billion with a generated revenue of $10.1 billion. Today, Louis Vuitton doesn’t make just trunks but designer handbags and clothing that can be spotted on the most famous of A-listers. 1. Balenciaga The beginning of Balenciaga’s reign began back in 1919 when it was established by its founder of the same name, Cristóbal Balenciaga. As a young child, Balenciaga became an apprentice to a tailor in his hometown of Getaria, Spain and would eventually get his formal training in Madrid. He would go on to create the House of Balenciaga and skyrocketed to success thanks to his artistic genius. He was hailed as the undisputed “ King of Fashion” and was highly respected among his peers which included the likes of Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, and Pierre Balmain. Balenciaga even helped train the likes of high-fashion designers Oscar de la Renta and Hubert Givenchy to name a few.

Hey design champions! Today I'm in the early stages of creating a logo for a fashion and lifestyle brand called free candy brand. The inspiration is street style with a little bit of art added into it. I made seven initial design options just to get a feel for the direction that they would like to go in : ) I'm hoping this will help point me into the right direction for when I make the final logo options. I'd love to get your input on these ones if you have time! 12:01
10 Fashion companies owned by celebs that faced backlash. Subscribe: https://goo.gl/Hnoaw3 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Being a celebrity means you can profit from your fame, and many celebs love to extend their name and faces to the fashion industry. Sadly, they don’t always hit the mark, and sometimes their advertising, names, and even products get called out by consumers. These are 10 celebrity fashion brands that got called out. You probably won’t be surprised that more than one Kardashian makes this list. Kim Kardashian’s old monthly shoe subscription service, ShoeDazzle, made headlines in 2012, and the reality star came under fire. Then, in 2017, Kim’s kid’s clothing line, Kids Supply, was called out for copying other high fashion designers. We’ll also take a look at the huge t-shirt controversy that hit Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner’s fashion brand, Kendall+Kylie; you won’t believe what the sisters tried to get away with. Fashion Brand Failure: #1 Mistake Failed Fashion Designers Make & How to Avoid It

16:27
53% of Fashion Businesses fail within the first 4 years, according to Entrepreneur Magazine. In this video I cover 2 Topics: 1. The trap or the reason majority of first-time fashion designers tell themselves when they want to be in the fashion business. 2. A simple exercise that you as a future fashion designer must you do minimize your risk so you don’t add to clothing line failure rate and increase your chances of success. There are a number of reasons why clothing brands fail but in my experience, the #1 reason I have seen, especially for a new fashion designer is that they do not realize what is involved in running a fashion business. They often confuse their passion for fashion with fashion business. When you want to start a clothing business, its important understand that the goal of the fashion business is to make money. This tutorial lists how to find that difference and what are the costs involved in starting a fashion business that will cut in to a fashion designer's profit margin and could make the difference between a successful & failed fashion designer. ****************** Other videos: ****************** How to start a clothing line under $67? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JKL3xIc0Oc 8 Ways to Fund Your Clothing Business https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udT54wcRW-c

Top 10 Richest Fashion Brands of All Time.

06:44
Top 10 Richest Fashion Brands of All Time: Levi, Dior, H&M or Louis Vuitton? Thanks to you and millions of label-loving people, fashion is big business. According to Statista, the U.S. apparel market is the biggest in the world, accounting for 28% of the global trade, or $331 billion. 10. Levi Strauss: worth $4.67 billion Rounding up our list is the inventor of jeans. Levi’s is still going strong despite challenges from upstart fashion labels. Levi’s company registers annual revenues of around $5 billion, propped up mainly by the popularity of its ‘shrink-to-fit’ 501s. It’s been the favorite of mods, rockers, hippies, skinheads, X-Y generations, and now, the millennials. 9. Coach: worth $4.76 billion It’s popular among fashionistas and people who love showing off their wealth through luxury items like Coach, which was founded in 1941. It’s the favorite of celebrities like Christina Hendricks and Elisabeth Moss for its durable and elegant handbags and wallets, among others. 8. Phillips-Van Heusen: worth $6.04 billion If the name is not familiar, try these: Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and, of course, Van Heusen. The company owns the three popular brands after buying off Calvin Klein in 2002 and Tommy Hilfiger in 2010. The company introduced the world’s first self-folding collar in 1919 and, today, it’s known for high-profile campaigns like David Beckham’s endorsements. The company also supplies neckties for DKNY and Ted Baker. 7. Estée Lauder: worth $9.71 billion The company is one of the first fashion labels to offer a wide selection of items, from clothing to perfumes, makeup and skincare. Behind the label are 40,000 employees that keep churning out millions of products to give Estée Lauder a whopping $10 billion gross sales in 2013 alone. The signature also owns luxury cosmetics, such as, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, M.A.C., and Jo Malone. 6. Richemont: worth $11.83 billion Relatively young, Richemont was founded in the eighties selling luxury watches, jewelry, clothing, and leather goods. The Swiss company owns through acquisitions some of the world’s most luxurious fashion brands, such as, Baume & Mercier, Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC, Piaget, and Montblanc. Likewise, it is behind the Cartier brand, dubbed the “jewelers of kings and king of jewelries” by the king of England, and the French Chloé. 5. Christian Dior: worth $11.91 billion It’s one of the top runway brands that produces a wide selection of both haute couture and off-the-rack clothing. Christian Dior is popular for its stylish perfumes and cosmetics, although it also sells luxury watches and jewelries. The French fashion house first gained fame for its shapes and silhouettes, creating voluptuous styles as opposed to the boxy shapes in post-war Europe. Today, the femme fatale-inspired House of Dior also caters to men through its Dior Homme division and children via Baby Dior. 4. The Gap: worth $15.65 billion One of the iconic fashion brands, The Gap attempted to rebrand its logo in 2010 only to be cowed by loyal customers to bring the old blue box back. The signature, popular among the younger set, was originally an exclusive retailer for Levi’s until the shop started to sell its own upscale jeans at the expense of Levi’s, seen by many as a “mature” denim brand worn by someone else’s father. Fashion is the function of youth, which makes The Gap richer than Levi’s. The company also owns Banana Republic and Old Navy brands. 3. Kering: worth $15.65 billion The signature sells luxury goods and sporting goods, including majority shares in Gucci, Saint Laurent and Sergio Rossi brands for fashion, and Puma, Cobra Golf, and Volcom for sports. Interestingly, its French founder, Francois Pinault, started the company as far removed from anything fashionable as possible, dabbling in wood trading and electrical materials. 2. H&M: worth $18.82 billion The Swedish retail fashion label is a high-street favorite sold in 53 countries that made billions selling “disposable fashion,” that is, it continuously updates its designs to project a trend-setter look. If you haven’t known yet, the ‘H’ stands for Hennes, Swedish “for her” and the ‘M’ means Mauritz, the name of the brand’s first retailer. H&M appeals to both haute-couture and off-the-rack markets so well that it made it to our number two place of the richest fashion labels ever. 1. LVMH: worth $37.14 billion It’s not by chance that the Louis Vuitton logo is set in gold, a color associated with luxury and wealth. The richest fashion label leaves its competitors in the dust, its value nearly twice that of its nearest contender. Louis Vuitton, in fact, is one of Forbes’ ten most valuable brands in the world last year, selling clothing, jewelry, luggage and perfume. But Christian Dior is not complaining; it’s the main holding company for LVMH with 40.9% of shares.

Fashion Business Plan Template: How to Start a Fashion Business Plan (in 20 mins)

23:03
Learn how to create fashion business plan in less than 20 mins instead of spending days/weeks/months creating one. How to start a fashion business? or How to start a clothing business? The first step is creating a fashion business plan or fashion business model. In the above video, we are going to learn how to create your fashion business plan in 20 mins. You must be wondering why 20 minutes, typical fashion business plan takes days/weeks to create. A perfect fashion business plan is a myth. Studies have shown that what separates successful fashion brands from unsuccessful is not the perfect plan but the ability to turn profitability before running out of resources. The way to start successful fashion business is not to spend weeks creating your perfect business plan but going out talking to your customers and modifying your fashion business model to adapt to customer’s needs. Time is a critical resource when you are starting a clothing line and you should not fall into the analysis paralysis path. Perfection is not the goal here, the goal is to create a snapshot of your initial thinking w.r.t. your customers, product, unique value proposition, revenue stream etc so you can establish a baseline as you are starting a clothing line and then modify/update it based on customer feedback. We are going to use a tool named Lean Canvas created by Ash Maurya in order to accomplish this. Chloe | Fashion Designers

02:25
Watch more Fashion Designers and Fashion Brands videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/500173-Chloe-Fashion-Designers The ready-to-wear line, Chloe, was founded in 1952 by Gabby Aghion, a Parisian woman, born in Egypt, who had decided that she was very dissatisfied with the prevailing fashion. Keep in mind, that in 1952, everybody wanted to look very, kind of, buttoned up and ladylike and sophisticated. She teamed up with a business partner and, in 1956, they presented their first collection. They presented their collection at the Café de Flore, which was important because that was the hang out place for existentialist writers and avant garde artists in Paris. And that really conveys the, kind of, free spirited attitude of Chloe. The brand became successful, and it really preceded the boutique fashions of 1960s. It's important to remember that this was ready-to-wear. This was not couture. This was not dressmaker fashion. An important milestone for the company came in 1966, when Karl Lagerfeld was brought on board to design for the house. And a series of designers since him, have kept the brand really fresh. Martine Sitbon designed for them in the 1980s. Stella McCartney came on in 1997. Phoebe Philo came on in 2001. In 2011, Clare Waight Keller came on and she's been continuing the very, kind of, bohemian, romantic look of the brand. Chloe's, kind of, glory years were in the 1970s, under the direction of Karl Lagerfeld. And he was dressing fashionable women from all over the world. Ranging from people like Brigitte Bardot, the French movie star, to Maria Callas, the opera singer, who was really a fashion icon in her time. Since 2011, Clare Waight Keller has been in charge of the brand. And, she has maintained the very feminine, bohemian romantic look of Chloe that was was established by Gabby Aghion back in 1952. So, what is important to know about Chloe, is that it's a brand with a great heritage that goes all the way back to the 1950s. And, Chloe has always been known for, kind of, a high scale, bohemian, romantic, feminine feel to fashion.

Karl Lagerfeld - German fashion designer and icon | DW Documentary

42:26
The German-born designer Karl Lagerfeld has died at the age of 85. He was a designer, an artist and a fashion icon. For this sad occasion we recommend a portrait DW made in 2014. No living fashion designer, let alone a German one, was as celebrated as Karl Lagerfeld. On September 10, 2018 the man with the trademark ponytail and sunglasses celebrated his 85th birthday. From dawn to late morning, Karl Lagerfeld designs for Chanel, Fendi and his own signature brand - a combined workload of up to 15 collections a year. A workhorse who never takes breaks or even a vacation, he is also a photographer and filmmaker. His passion for fashion was awakened by a Dior show in Hamburg in 1950. Four years later, at the age of 17, Karl Lagerfeld was hired as an assistant to Pierre Balmain. Karl Lagerfeld recounts his beginnings in the industry, as well as his upper class background and childhood in Schleswig-Holstein. Karl Lagerfeld was greatly influenced by his mother, whom he describes as his personal style icon. Karl Lagerfeld's caustic comments were notorious and dreaded by those at the receiving end. As an artist, Karl Lagerfeld worked in several media, from pictures and photographs to book illustrations and videos. The documentary of 2015 follows Karl Lagerfeld to exhibition openings, during the hectic preparations for his fashion shows, and at photo shoots in Paris as it seeks to uncover the man behind the mask. _______ DW Documentary gives you knowledge beyond the headlines. Eco Fashion Brand is Upcycling Over 100,000 Sweaters Every Year - Slow Fashion

05:10
In this video, we meet Julia Grieve, the founder of preloved, which is a Toronto-based eco-fashion brand that creates clothing using second-hand vintage wool sweaters, rolls of deadstock fabric, and other sustainably sourced materials. Preloved was founded in 1995 and has been upcycling and reusing an average of 100,000 sweaters each year. These secondhand sweaters are usually destined for the landfill, but preloved buys them from rag house clothing sorters and deconstructs them into fabric they can use to design new sweaters. In addition to sourcing sustainable materials for all of their clothes, the brand has also made a conscious decision to manufacture their clothing in Canada instead of outsourcing the work overseas. Their clothes are made by people who are paid a good wage and who have a positive and safe working environment. Mat and I were impressed with the incredible work that preloved does to design and create clothing with minimal impact on the environment, and without exploiting it's workers. One of the reasons we've been inspired to look into ethically made and environmentally friendly clothing is because of The True Cost documentary (http://truecostmovie.com) that we recently watched about the incredibly devastating impact the fast fashion industry has on the planet. We wrote a blog post with tips about how to create an ethical wardrobe here: http://www.exploringalternatives.ca/how-to-create-an-ethical-wardrobe/ You can also check out the incredible clothing line made by preloved here: http://www.getpreloved.com Thanks for watching!
